The coaches upstairs must be aware of where the ball is spotted.

Zero fuqs. They were thinking about scoring some tail with the boss leading the way. No time for that

There's a time and place for making fun of our coaches...

we don't need to distract from what happened yesterday. Ball got spotted 10 yds short, and our staff missed it. Sure it was on a replay, but it's still unacceptable to allow that to happen at this level. Coaches should have been on the field in the ref's ear, until they got it right.

I guess that shite just happens. Penn STate coaching staff punted the ball on 3rd down last night.

Going by the auburn game they would’ve ruled the spot was correct. Lol

Agreed. Coaches at this level should have been all over this, as I suspect pretty much all others in our conference would have.

That blew me away when I heard about it. They were at home so had full team on sidelines - 120 players, 10 coaches, untold numbers of support staff and no one stopped it.

OP is sorta right- someone is always assigned to track spots and downs to double check that stuff. If not you get 5 downs like Colorado.

Lincoln Riley wanting to challenge his own player's INT that will probably be the defensive play of the year also blows me away. I understand why he wished it hadn't happened (4th down- bat it down, better field position); but to challenge it... and something that spectacular is a little too much.

When instant replay over ruled the incomplete catch at the 45 yard line of CM. Player had 1 foot down on the CM 45 yard line. After the replay decision, ball spotted at lsu 45 yard line. 10 yards back on the wrong 45 yard line. No one caught the mistake. Lsu scored a td on the drive anyway.

Coaches are too busy reading personnel and dialing up a play to also have to do a ref’s job. That should fall on a GA or analysts responsibility from the field if they want to pay attention to that.

ALL of the TV crew caught it. Joked about it for 5 minutes.

Kudos, we agree! but as other posters noted, SEC officiating was horrible all around. Lugs and Sallee on ESPNU this morning ripped the officiating. The PI calls against Florida, the calls against Penn State, the Miss. State/Memphis game and this in the LSU game.
