would never happen but you make a lot of valid points. I for one, am sick and tired of the SEC bias towards bama, the ref favoritism, the schedule favoritism, etc. all sanctioned by the league officials who are all Bama fans. League offices in Birmingham with the fanaticism that exists in Bama for Bama (and to some extent Auburn) and the general hate and jealousy towards LSU that permeates SEC league officials and officers is something that LSU just can't continue to ignore.

Boxcar, I agree with you 100%. I do wish LSU would open a dialog and talk to the Big12. If LSU started talking it would send shockwaves through the SEC offices. If anything ever happened LSU and Arkansas would probably go together. The SEC would take a MAJOR financial hit and the Big12 would become a Super Conference and be able to add a Conference Championship Game again.

LSU has always been treated like a red-headed step child in the SEC. The loyalty to the SEC is one-way.

Road trips to Stillwater and Austin would be awesome, but other than that there is zero reason why we should move. It would be fun to watch A&M and Bama melt though.

It's a fun thought experiment. The thing that a lot of people lose sight of is that being affiliated with the sec shouldn't be the end-game, having the most beneficial conference affiliation is what's most important. Right now, the sec is so financially beneficial that it outweighs the negative guff we get from the conference. You never know, though, there may one day be a conference that comes calling offering more benefits. I don't think the big 12 is that right now, but the sec aint always gonna be top dog.

My loyalty is to LSU, not the SEC.

Could y'all imagine the black eye it would be for the SEC to lose its most well rounded sports program?

LSU is the only conference program with double digit conference championships in the three big sports of football, baseball, and basketball.

This isn't happening though.

Just ready for the Saban era to end and Bama to go back to mediocrity. It's slowly happening

I really don't care what conference LSU plays in. Going to support them the same and they will be highly successful regardless.

The SEC truly does seem the most shady

I'm on board. With todays playoff system, what is the benefit of playing in the SEC? Join the Big 12 and get an easier path to the playoffs.

No more 15 yard penalties on the 1 yard line with the game in hand.

No more BS falling on your own teammate while trying to block an extra point penalties.

The list can go on and on.

GO BIG 12!!!!

I like the sec, but I do perceive bama bias which is very obvious. Latest is TV in a "very rare" move declared ineligible by SEC after being cleared by NCAA? That's just infantile. Fire all Bama alum employees and move the office to a neutral state and don't hire anyone for a meaningful position that's a grad of an SEC school. How hard can it be? Wtf is wrong with doing that to settle it for good?

aTm left the Little 12 because everything was rules for U Tex and then everybody else. Sounds like the SEC Offices all over again only with everybody wearing cowboy boots. Stay with the Devil you know. But if we float the balloon that we are considering it due to Bama bias, maybe they will treat us better.

LSU needs the SEC, SEC doesn't need LSU.

There are plenty of teams that would kill to be in the SEC right now. LSU is already in a financial crisis but take that away and just look at it from an Athletic stand point.

You lose the big games with Alabama which is a national televised game a year and replace with Texas? They aren't relevant enough for a nationally televised game. Replace the Auburn game with who? Baylor... TCU? How about the Florida game with OU? Ok ok I'll give you that one. How about the Ole Miss rivalry with Okie state.

Do not want! None of those games are appealing unless they are non conference games. I have no desire to see LSU and Iowa state or Kansas or Texas Tech

You're forgetting the irreplaceable A&M game.

If you don't think the refs will be biased for that team in Austin, you're insane.

Teams are trying to get INTO the SEC, not out of it. Trading Bama for Texas as the pampered school of the conference is no upgrade.

No thanks.

Hell, I wanna go to the MAC!

No seriously, wouldn't it be nice to go 13-0 or 12-1 like FSU does in the ACC?

Or run the table and go undefeated in weaker conferences like USC and Texas used to do routinely?

It's be nice to be a championship favorite all year long as opposed to being out of the playoffs after close losses to say Florida and Bama.

i agree it is very interesting, if nothing else, i would team with Arkansas to create some leverage when it comes to next conference meetings to discuss permanent opponents.

LSU/Arkanasas/Texas/TCU/Baylor/Oklahoma isnt a bad conference if you ask me...
