The best explanation is that they are in our heads.

Errrbody bitchin about scheme and bland offense.
1. Why would we switch up what works when it has worked exceptionally well (even at halftime.. The run game wasn't a big part of being tied-ish.. but no need to change the entire plan).
2. Tennessee and Georgia ran relatively well on Bama. We all thought we'd be able to at least replicate those results.
3. I get the feeling that we think we deserve to get the W, because of all the heartache and raping of the human spirit they have inflicted on us. Not the case. We're going to have to rip it away from them.
2011, 2012, 2014.. Working their way back into the championship game, coming back in 2012, and coming back in 2014, were all extremely low probability occurrences (I'd guess, 5 percent, 10 percent, 3 percent - respectively - about .0002 percent chance of them all happening)
They've got our number. No doubt about it.
They don't have a glaring (if any) advantage in talent.
They didn't necessarily completely out-coach us.
But the mentality was/is certainly not right (and yes I DO blame a lot of that on coaching - but not gameplan)
The bad news is it's going to be tough to get over that hill.
I think these guys will come out, and see that Arkansas isn't all up in our junk and regain that confidence that they ARE a VERY good team. It could all line up to get another shot at Bama, which would be just the type of mental edge I think they'd thrive on.
My rambling point.. is that this loss was 80 percent mental. They aren't that much better than us, they just played like it.

This is why tickets will be cheap on Saturday. You guys think the world is over

Of course they are. They just have our number. How a team doesnt get up for the biggest game of the year and go out and play like their backs are against the wall knowing that they have a clear and controlled path to a championship if they win this game is beyond me.

silly post.
Yes, the game plan has worked well this season ..... against lesser competition. Surely you can understand that when we play an elite team like Alabama, we might have to treat that game differently than the lesser teams on our schedule and actually adapt our game plan.
It's just astounding to me that a coach can think there's a "one-size-fits-all" game plan that works against every opponent, no matter what their strengths and weaknesses are.

I don't know that Bama is in the teams head, but Saban is very much in the head of Les. And I feel that Les projects it to the team. I feel that the team reflects it's leadership. If Les is not showing confidence, then neither will the team.

It's little to do with being in our heads. Saban has modernized his offense to be balanced and we have not.
We are not going to run at bama for as long as Saban is there. I have no expectations on winning for the interim with the one dimensional offense.

The best explanation is Saban is better than Miles right now, but it all could change, all depends on Les improving his team's offense or Saban retiring.

I agree with this, but u will lose a lot of sleep if u think Les will change!!!

Funny before that game there was almost constant praise of how the offense had started opening up and was slowly changing for the better and how we should keep it up cause it's working.
Now. Not so much. The same people that were touting how LSU and Les had finally got it going and how Harris was going to lead LSU past Bama are now completely opposite.

Disagree a bit.
I saw their front four destroy our o-line play after play after play.
Not the most mental facet of football.
They dominated the trenches.
Brut force won.

They ran to the outside. Miles tried to run up the middle. If you've watched Bama football at all you would know NOT TO RUN UP THE MIDDLE!! Les is to stupid to see that.

I was one of those - check out my sig to see what we got.

In our heads? Is that how they push our oline two yards into our backfield? WTF are you talking about? They have more talent. The recruiting services have been unanimously telling you that for seven or eight years now.

I don't think it helps to have twice as many threads (or more) about Alabama on Thursday after the game than we have with the next opponent. Not to pick on you, but enough

LSU needs to paint the locker room crimson and play Alabama/LSU games on a loop in every TV of football ops building for 360 days until the next game. Players need a script A on the home screen of their iPads as they study plays. The coaches should wear houndstooth headgear. They need an elephant mascot running through the halls.
The entire program needs to understand the every goal they set at the beginning of every season goes through the University of Alabama. They need nightmares of crimson tide waking them up, knowing that the only way it ends is when they win.
Bottom line, LSU doesn't take this game as seriously as UA.

The gumps have an angry, intense, and focused coach and they play angry, intense, and focused.
We have a zany coach who recruits great talent, but sometimes it seems the atmosphere around the team is like Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood.

When are you retards gonna get it?
You're not going to win a NC throwing for 100 yards a game in this era of CFB unless you have the 85 bears defense, which we don't.
So guess what? Get with fricking reality.
Develop a competent passing game/balanced offense. I don't care how you do it, but just do it. And competent =225 yards passing a game to drive the field and move the chains. Not trickeration. Just methodically moving down the field consistently and converting points.
It's laughable at this point. People still defend this shitty unbalanced offense.
The offense is the sole reason we have not won a NC since '07. And the defense/ST was the ONLY reason we played for it that other year.
