The absurdity of AP voter Ian Kress’ ballot this week…he moved LSU DOWN 5 spots

Yeah, yeah, yeah. I know. It’s too early to worry about rankings, but it’s never too early to call out stupidity.
In Week 4, Kress ranked LSU 10th and Texas A&M 23rd
LSU was favored by 9.5 to beat the Aggies, won 35–6, and easily covered the spread.
What did Kress do after LSU impressive performance? He moved LSU DOWN five spots to No. 15.
For comparison, 5 teams on his ballot beat another team he had ranked.
Here’s what happened to the winners on his next ballot:
LSU was the only one of those five winners he dropped.
Iowa beat Kress’ 21st ranked team Michigan by a single point and were rewarded with a 6 spot jump in his rankings. A Michigan team mind you that had to have an extra second illegally added to the clock to help them eek out a win against Western Michigan.
LSU beat his 23rd ranked team by 29 points and were rewarded with a 5 spot drop in his rankings. Apparently LSU’s mistake was failing to make the game close enough.
Meanwhile, Ohio State moved up three spots after beating an unranked Illinois team by 23. Ohio State was favored by 27 and didn’t cover.
Utah moved up five spots after beating unranked Iowa State by 14.
So a 29-point win over a team he ranked cost LSU five spots.
A 23-point win that didn’t cover earned Ohio State a three-spot jump.
I know it’s too early to be worried about polls, but make this make sense

Sports journalists are retards
It’s wild to me how that field is such a joke now. Sports reporters used to live and breathe the sports they covered.
They are much interested in anything other than actual sports reporting now. Journalism is dead.

Most of the voters are just making it a point to put Ole Miss a spot or two ahead of LSU. It’s one of the few times where they can actually attempt to justify their ranking.
Guys sitting on their couch watching a full day of football see way more games than what these beat writers watch.

Who cares honestly? These ratings sort themselves out by the end of the year just by body of work. Nobody cares in week 4.
Josh Pate has a weekly segment on these he absolutely rips them and rightfully so. He loves ripping the AP poll to pieces.

It’s probably more about Ole Miss getting punished by Florida. Man I hope Dabo pulls a rabbit out of his arse and beats… or at least hangs with Miami this weekend.

This is basically what it is. LSU has only played 1 decent team this year in which they dominated LSU on the road in the first half and then lost in the last seconds. Not as bad as it seemed but LSU doesn't have any body of work other than dismantling bad teams and then the only one who was decent beat them on the road who just got dismantled by a heavily underrated Florida team.
Won't matter in a few weeks anyway. You about to find out how good LSU really is because they play a Miss State team that should be a consensus top 10 ranked team and a Kentucky program playing better than anyone expected.
