They gotta do something about the portal window. It completely screws the teams that make it to Omaha.

So many people were praising Coastal around here and mocking LSU.

Like many of us said. Let’s see how they would have faired this season in the SEC.
Coastal was legit last season regardless of conference, but this season they were not the same.

Baseball is a sport where playing together over time means better continuity year to year
The portal and nil will make it harder year to year to sustain it
Aggies went from runner up to missing postseason to back to tourney
It’s gonna be a roller coaster every year and with 34 man roster more parity

Making a run in Omaha really puts you behind for the next year. Teams like LSU face a double whammy because of the draft.

Yeah, I mean the portal window disadvantage exists. But also for many programs, the ability to build a CWS caliber team with skill and leadership can’t be replaced in the portal anyway. LSU really isn’t one of those programs. Being elite every season probably isn’t reasonable, and you can see why. But also a total collapse of a season can’t be blamed on the early portal window.

I agree with this.
Jay, not tRant, is his biggest critic. I doubt he's sitting around saying year-to-year excellence is impossible. He'll take take the challenge.

So, please explain your point. My understanding is EVERY team has the same “window” for transfers, so is the issue talent evaluation, or is it player evaluation?
