Here's something to think about....

We were 12-0, ranked #1 and playing UGA in the SECCG game.

Bama was #2 and at home.

Had we LOST to Georgia....

Bama would have played Okie St for the title.

UGA would have played in the Sugar Bowl.

LSU would have been ranked what, #3 or #4 and in the OUTBACK BOWL?

But in all honesty, we beat Bama at their place and that should have been enough.

2011 was awesome, despite 1/9.

What would have happened if we had LOST 9-6 in OT the first time around to Bama?

Would we have gotten the rematch?

I really felt bad for Gundy and OSU. They had the better résumé, and deserved their shot against us. I still don't get why the pollsters didn't want that matchup - that was one of the few offenses that could have really challenged our secondary.

The BCS gave us the big middle finger and made us play Bama again. I will always hate the BCS system for what they did to what could have been the greatest college team ever

bullshite - if LSU couldn't beat Alabama on 1/9, then they didn't deserve the championship.

We weren't complaining about the BCS in 2003 and 2007.

Without question.

Thinking about that season and having to play Bama twice makes me sick to my stomach.

just a bad match up on our part, the fact that the team came out flat and Bama were taking chances on our defense killed morale. We played with no emotion that night

I would have like to have seen Jarret Lee get in a couple of series to see if he might move the team

Temporary blindness on 11-5?

Lee should've run series in every game between 11-5 and 1-9 to keep Saban occupied, but not vs Bama.

13-1 > 12-1when both teams were 1-1 to each-other, that is all.

Ya see, I would take our trouncing in 2011 over being an Auburn fan last year every time given the chance. We got asses handed to us and that was that. Auburn fans have to wake up from daydreams and real dreams of what-ifs the rest of their lives.
2011 season was frickin fabulous.

I was thinking the same thing the other day myself. The big takeaway for me was just how simply incredible that defense was, and so many of them are playing successfully in the NFL--Brockers, Mathieu, Reid, Claiborne, Mingo. What a bunch.

Had this team played any other year, they would easily be in the Championship most likely with a win, but unfortunately, Alabama's defense was also one for the ages the very same season.

recycling the same offensive game plan that we used the first time we played Bama

Rant myth.

Did JC Copeland split out wide on 11/5? Did JJ start? Did we run option all 11/5? Did we not throw downfield on 11/5?

1/9 was a very shitty gameplan, but certainly not close to the same one as 11/5.

The irony is LSU fans criticizing Miles for not adjusting on 1/9, yet his adjustments are what won us 11/5.

God damn it I fricking hate alabama.

This.
The 1/9 debacle makes it hard to remember the good times in 2011. Even now, 13 wins and a SEC title seem insignificant. I think I would've rather we just won the Sugar.

It esp sucks knowing that had it been OK instead of Okie, Bama doesn't get in.
