Arguably the best defense in LSU history. Pretty epic to me. Gotta admit, the BCS game was hard to swallow. Hardest loss Ive ever had to stomach. But looking back, damn that was a good defense.

Again...

We lost the title game so no one will remember this season or team as one of the best all time especially in fifty years.

You may not, most people may not. The 2013 draft speaks for itself and Alabama was ridiculously good that year, too. Was it the best season in LSU history, no. Was it one of the best, yes. People will always remember the Honey Badger, nationally.

Nah, man.

I like you tadelatt but I have to disagree with you here.

We beat the Rose Bowl Champs, the Orange Bowl Champs, our schedule was insane that year and we beat everyone with the exception of "them" when we won, on the road, 9-6, by double digits.

I will never change my stance on the BCS match up. We beat Bama and that should've counted. I don't care about their history or how they were the previous or following year. We beat them, done deal.

Not saying they're not a good team but the win is a win. It would've counted had they beaten us. So what makes them so special that they get a redo? Nothing.

It should've been Okie State playing us, Bama goes to the Sugar. They still would've gotten their BCS bowl and all that. They never should've been playing us again.

I think Oklahoma State had a stronger SOS than Bama that year too.

If there is any justice out of it, glad they dropped the trophy and broke it. Yeah, they'll get a replacement but it is pretty poetic.

That I didn't know.

That season was awesome. Weren't you at the Oregon game too? Man, it was so freaking hot that day but the game made up for it.

A small price to pay.
I wasn't at the Oregon game. I was at the previous game at Cowboy Stadium, the Cotton bowl against A+M. It was a coming out party for LSU DBs. Mathieu, Simon, and Reid all had pics, all freshmen. Against a top QB no less. Great memory with my late father who passed away in December. I'll never forget it.

Sorry to hear about your dad, man. Glad you can look back and cherish that moment with him.

He's got the best seat now and is for sure watching over you and yours and the Tigers!

for your dad.

A championship is better than anything. Without a championship, it's not the best ever. 2007, 2003, I'll take any one of these over 2011, as good as it was.

As Good as The Tigers defense was...That Bama D was the best I have ever seen play....we were doomed as soon as they announced the rematch....

While they're defense may have been better with overall yardage and points, ours faced a much, much higher level of competition and basically was as effective in scoring as out offense was.

People may think I'm crazy bc of how the rematch turned out, but I'll still take our defense over Bamas
