Aside from the Georgia game, this season was mediocre. People keep pointing to the fact that we won more games than expected but before the season everyone thought Miami and Auburn were top 10 teams. They both ended up being terrible. So you really can't put too much weight on the record.

If we had beaten A&M I'd call it a "good" season. Since we didn't it was just mediocre. If we lose to UCF I'd say it was disappointing.

Not impressed at all with O.

Many other schools would like to be 9-3.
Also, even with the FL loss, we should be 10-2 and the FL loss would not have happened if our great WRs could catch the ball.
...much work needed there.
Coaches coach, but players have to execute

Careful, you'll get nauseous with all that spinning

Great season with some awesome moments. Should have been 10-2, but I will take 9-3 over what was predicted.

right...because if we don't go undefeated and win a natty it's not a good season.

wiping the floor with Miami on a national stage-who cares they were overrated
Keeping both our rivalry trophies for the 3rd year in a row- well that's expected so so what
upsetting and storming the field vs Georgia-yawn
Making a new years 6 bowl- who cares I wanted a natty...we deserve a natty!!

You people are miserable

Losing to Florida bama and tamu is nit a great season.

LSU did not lose to A&M. They just didn't get credit for their win.
That's my position and the way I'm wording it for the rest of my life.

You are confused. The goal every year is to win the NC. But just because you do t reach that doesnt equate to the season being a failure. We lost to the #1 team and the # 10 and 19 teams on the road with the latter being a ref induced fluke. We are currently ranked #11, higher than we have been in Many years, beating sec teams once again, and playing in a good bowl game. The outlook for the 2019 season is very good.

very weak argument - nobody is saying this.

But we should be seriously in the hunt for the SEC championship most years.

And going 5-3, third place in the SEC West, and getting destroyed 29-0 at home by Bama at home isn't nearly good enough.

No it isnt "good enough" but at least we are beating sec teams once again and could finish in the top 10 for the first time in a long time. Ths ship has been righted and going in the right direction.

ok...that line was hyperbole, but it's not far off. All the positive from this season I mentioned... a bid in the fiesta bowl and your literal response is

isn't nearly good enough.
You sound spoiled as hell. I don't know if I would even bother tuning in with that mentality. What's the fun in it?

I agree. He’s done a good job. It was a respectable season. Yes, the refs stole a game from us, but I’m still pissed at O for that game. It should have never gotten to OT. I remember what he said over and over after the Georgia game. “We coached to win the game. We kept coaching to win the game”. Well, I guess he forgot that philosophy against A&M. I blame O for A&M for many reasons. I blame him for Notre Dame as well. But there’s no reason to think he can’t get it done. All these coaches make glaring mistakes. Kirby fake FG. Kirby fake punt. Even Saban v Auburn with the kick six. We got the number 6 recruiting class, might finish top 5. I know A&M and Bama are ahead of us. But I’ve seen enough of Jimbo and Herman to know that I’d rather have O over both those guys.

I watch every LSU game. But it sounds like I have higher expectations for the program than you. Which I believe are justified, given that we sit in a recruiting hotbed with no in-state competition, and have top facilities and resources.

If your outlook is (like mine) that we should be competing for championships, 9-3 isn't good enough. True, it's pretty good, but "pretty good" shouldn't be our standard.

"Do it most predicted 9-3"

Most of the worst coach O detractors who said he was garbarge were predicting 9-3 or 10-2 on this board in order to cover their asses as some sort of stupid strategy.

it has???

Les' last 4+ years:

10-3
10-3
8-5
9-3
2-2 (partial year)

Orgeron's 2+ years:

6-2 (partial year)
9-4
9-3 (bowl not yet played)

Looks like it's the same to me.

I dont think anyone thinks 9-3 is "good enough" or "our standard". I think people are just happy that tbe program is improving and things are looking up again
