Any black face paint used to make white (or brown) people look black is racist. Our national narrative is currently about this (i.e. Virginia Governor, etc).

Holy shite. You're off the rails.

It doesn't matter to you that the actual group and most of the citizens in NOLA love everything about Zulu. Tribal paint and all. But a few out of town bleeding vaginas get their panties wadded up over it and that group should be forced to change something they're known for? You and your liberal SJW ilk can take an order from Les Grossman......

Hard to believe any reasonable person would use Suber as a reference. Guess next you will try to quote Jarvis DeBerry. Both are hard core racist.

Like I said.....a racist act is not excused by "some" who approve of the act.

Not a few.....This is a national conversation about racist behavior and the stereotypes they normalize.

Wasn't there a thread last year, maybe 2 years ago, asking why TGBFTL doesn't do Mardis gras anymore?

I call BS if Zulu is not held to the same standard. The LSU band represents LSU and should not be associated with this issue.

The take down Nola people want them to stop. Zulu told them to frick off

Don't remember one. The LSU band has marched in a few Mardi Gras parades (Rex & Bacchus).

WOW.....so, a racist act (blackface) is less racist if a person of color thinks it is OK? I call BS on all of this.

It's white guilt people telling a bunch of blacks in New Orleans they can't black face their black parade.

Honestly if they want to allow it, I'm not going to say shite. Not saying you are totally wrong. But prob not much difference in people calling each other the N word and it being ok.

Recently? I thought it had been a while and the discussion was more about logistics and money because of how large the band is.

Except this isn't a racist act. We've already established that in this thread. Intent is everything. Even when it comes to racism.

Do you think the Zulu Social Club gives a frick about CNN or the NY Times? They've already told you loony fricks to pound sand.

Most agree that "blackface" is a bad thing. Does not matter who is doing it and for what reason. The LSU Tiger Band is "participating" in this while representing the university. This was a very poor decision to perform in this parade.

Morons like you have no idea the history of Zulu....yet you're "woke"

We have a pale skinned white guy bleeding all over the board telling us what is/isn't racist. Love this place.

I've already stated that intent has nothing to do with it. I gave a hazing analogy.
If fraternity pledges are urinated on, that's hazing. Even if the pledges agreed to it and the urinators had no intent (because it was approved by the pledges).

No dickbag. HUGE difference and intent is everything. Even with hazing. What is the intent of hazing? (Definition below). The intent of the Zulu riders is to pay respect to ancient Zulu warriors. You can't be this fricking stupid. You just can't be.

Definition of hazing
: the action of hazing
especially : an initiation process involving harassment

Nope. The university defines hazing and LSU has defined it as I have stated. Intent DOES NOT excuse the act!!! Please, you cannot be that stupid.

That analogy is kinda fricking insane.

All hazing is voluntary . You literally can quit at anytime.

It’s not a permission basis.

Racists and hazing aren’t the same.

If I punch a guy in the face because he’s black that’s clearly a racist act

If I punch A guy in the face and he’s happens to be black but we’re boxing, is that racist?

No you dumbfrick. Hazing is NEVER intended to be a good thing. It's ALWAYS bad and can never be labeled any other way. Face painting absolutely can be interpreted different ways by intent.

He's just playing the odds considering dark skinned Irish folks are few and far between.
