Just because it's newsworthy to them, doesn't mean you have to agree with it or give it a high level of significance/respect.

I don't have to agree with it.....I choose to agree with it.

You've been told repeatedly why the facepainting done at Zulu is not "blackface" yet you keep ignoring it.

Not ignoring, I disagree (and so do many black people in New Orleans, Baton Rouge, etc.)
Here is a quote from an article about the Drake photo: "Blackface is the practice of non-Black people darkening their skin in deliberate attempts to impersonate Black people."
LINK
quote:

There is a national dialogue regarding blackface right now and there are some people who have issues with Zulu. That doesn't defacto mean what Zulu is doing is morally or socially wrong.

None of this is "defacto." Many people have opinions. I have not called for Zulu to stop what they are doing. They have every right to employ/require blackface. And I have a right to point it out as racist and hurtful.

You'd assume that was wrong and he should be publicly ridiculed for that, right?

Please don't "assume" anything for me.
(see above quote & link about Drake and blackface)

You really need to stop blindly following the masses.

I'm not and you should not assume I am.

OP sounds like the media: "some say","some think", "some believe".
If "some" are offended you must submit to "their" FEELINGS.

Be careful....one day you might be part of the "some."

I highly doubt that. We aren't talking about physical abuse here.

It's the feelings of the weak minded professional victims.

Anyone that feels comfortable with them self doesn't get worked up and demand others stop doing things that they are not a part of because it hurts their feelings or goes against what they believe.

You did not say "on Mardi Gras day" in your statement to "roux." "roux" was commenting on the quality of Zulu with an added descriptor "on Mardi Gras day." Since your comment was also about the quality of parades, you should have added "on Mardi Gras day" if you were making that a central theme of your comment.

1) That wasn't even me.
2) That poster was 100% talking about Mardi Gras Day parades in his reply to roux. It's not our fault you have the comprehension level of a 3rd grader.

And even more black people don't give a frick so if we're going by your nonsensical drivel in this thread, the numbers win. Put 2 or 3 extra tampax in your vag in 2 weeks when Zulu rolls and TGBFTL is marching proudly down St. Charles.

Zulu Aint Playing

As the rally continued, a Zulu member ducked into his Bentley to hastily slap on the group’s signature face paint before flaunting it in front of the protesters. He then passed the makeup to another member, who did likewise.

eta: This is how your Take Em Down Rally" went today. The "so many" you've been talking about really showed up. All 6 of them. But I do appreciate the Zulu members continuing to tell y'all to get fricked.

How could you possibly know this? Your continued insults coupled with your lack of evidence possibly indicates you are frustrated because your argument is flawed.

My lack of evidence? I have the ACTUAL frickING BLACK LEADERS AND KREWE MEMBERS telling you moonbats to frick off. How much more proof do you need? You're insulting the Zulu member's intelligence. There are some very powerful and influential black dudes riding on those floats.

There are 40+ million black folks in America. I can promise you less that 2% of them give a frick about Zulu's tribal face paint. In fact, if you tell them the history I'd bet that 2% would shrink to under 1%.
