Boosters starting to make it rain.
Do any LSU boosters have something like this going on?

Texas offensive lineman will get paid $50,000 per year in NIL money, according to this new non-profit.

Horns with Heart, the first charitable NIL entity, is proud to sponsor the Pancake Factory. Starting 8/1/22 all scholarship Offensive Linemen at the University of Texas will receive $50,000 annually ($800,000 combined) for use of their NIL and participating in charitable causes.

It's pay to play now, a bit more open and honest, than before.

I bet the NCAA makes changes to the NIL after schools do stuff like this.

Our lady of the lake is going to have to step it up.

Don’t you think the cat is out of the bag? What could they do?

They are going to destroy their own sport
Unless equitable you it will end up being like the Yankees on one end and the Pirates on the opposite end
What about gender equity
Get ready for the lawsuit from women's sports teams

How can Title IX come into play?

The NCAA has no power anymore.
It's over. There is no going back. A ton of fans cheered these changes when they were being implemented.

It can't. Idiots, like the poster you are replying to, can't understand that the university isn't paying the players in NIL deals.

This is correct. Olivia Dunne isn't making millions due to her gymnastics. I'm sure she is a decent gymnast, but the only reason she is making NIL money is because she is attractive and hit the right vein on TikTok.

This new money grab by athletes will destroy college athletics.

Huh??
This is great use of the new law & exactly what it’s intended to be used for

University handles compliance.
NIL is between the athlete and advertiser. It's a promotional situation. Nothing NCAA can do - NO TITLE 9 - Advertisers determine what makes sense for their dollars.
If a non-profit wants to support PART of the team- then there is nothing anyone can do about it.
It's an arms race and the players will benefit.

How is that any different from what it already is? It's the same handful of teams in the playoffs every year already. Same teams in the top 10 recruiting.

Remember, NIL isn't a result of the NCAA changing their policy, it's the result of a Supreme Court ruling.
Regarding Title IX, the money for NIL isn't coming from the universities, so Title IX isn't in play.

Mascona being one of the biggest cheerleaders for NIL. How people thought paying college athletes was a good idea is beyond me. I don’t see how it could ever work or how it would improve the product at all.

All that money to lose to Kansas
