I just like how he knows about this LSU team already and is an expert on the SEC

Nussmeier is a fine QB, but he won’t repeat the Heisman level production from Jayden Daniels.

Secondary is still bad. Still no legit pass rushers from the EDGE/DL room. Only QB pressure in 2033 came from linebackers blitzing.

I mean these statements could very well be true. None of us really know. It’s just another person with an opinion, not sure why anyone should really care about it.

I feel the same way about Texas. They had one good win last year, early against Bama when they hadn’t figured out their QB situation yet. They lost to OU and struggled with teams like UH, K State and TCU (who lost to Colorado). I look at their schedule with Michigan, Florida, OU, UGA and A&M and it screams 8-4 to me.

He needs to worry about the over rated, irrelevant Longhorns.

Yeah, he doesn't see how LSU beat UT in 2019, either.

I think we were maybe slightly
more talent at DB last year but we had no idea where we were going or what we were doing which negated all of that.

I am hope Jones makes a huge leap because he was not a worthwhile player least year.

swinson is an upgrade over Ovie who again was a non factor last year.

---I'll settle for being #2 in stats compared to JD any time.

Valid concerns

Lose almost the entire offensive production in Daniels, Nabers, Thomas, and Diggs.

The defense has only one for sure NFL guy in Perkins.

It is not a recipe for the playoffs on the outside looking in, but that's why they play the games. Outside of a handful of teams, everyone has questions, and this time of year, every fanbase thinks their team is going to exceed expectations. We'll know a lot more five days from now.

He supports it with solid rationale

The glass-half-full view would be that Kelly's culture and history in Year 3 suggests a better "team" this year, paired with a schedule that has LSU favored in Vegas in every game right now except 1.

There's a path to see both sides. I think the key will be our running game - if we can do it when we need it then this team will be very good because we know the passing game will be more than adequate and it'll help the defense

Exactly. Run a few SEC schedules before we crown the 'horns.
