As the coaching search in Oakland continues to sputter along, Jay Glazer of FOX reported on Sunday that Falcons receivers coach Terry Robiskie could be nudging closer to consideration.
And though Robiskie is not yet on the official interview list, he reportedly has lined up a staff of assistant coaches who are all willing to join him in Oakland, if he gets the job.
Robiskie, 54, is a 27-year NFL assistant, and he has twice served as an interim head coach, with the Redskins in 2000 and the Browns in 2004.
------------
I can't think of any right off, have any former LSU players become NFL head coaches?

That job is a death trap.

Don't think so. Alvin Dark managed a MLB team taking over the Oakland A's from Dick Williams in the 70's.

No doubt about it, but it'll be the only opportunity Robiskie will ever have at becoming a head coach. If it hasn't happened now at this stage of his career, his odds are dwindling.
I hope he gets it, but with Al Davis you can never tell what'll happen next.

Didn't he already do a stint as interim head coach of the raiders about 10-12 years ago?

Terry was the interim coach for the Redskins last 3 games in 2000. Norv Turner was fired. He was 1-2.

Who cares about him? He's a traitor tiger like Skyer Green. I know his son goes to Ohio St but he could have shown a little Tiger spirit before the NC game last year.

He should stay far, FAR away from there.

coach robiskie was and is a great tiger. his son was not raised in Louisiana, and terry was coaching with the browns when he picked a school. besides with all the talent we have had at wr did we even recruit him very hard?? i doubt he would have played much with us that much anyway.
as far a terry siding with his son over us... that's gotta be tough to do, but if my flesh and blood was playing anybody other than God, i pull for my flesh and blood. look at the mannings when payton was at tenn. remember the ole miss haters for archie, the greatest reb ever?? this happens people, it's life.

Didn't LSU pass on him once or twice for their head coaching vacancy in the past? If so, why should the guy pull for LSU when you combine that with the fact that his son plays for Oh St?

Yeah, Brian was only a 2-star. LSU probably didn't even offer him.

Somebody posted on the now defunct coaching changes board that Robiskie doesn't have a degree. Might have something to do with him never being considered for a head coaching job in college or otherwise.

Y'all got a fine receiver and if putting your blood above your school makes you a traitor I am siding with Terry every time

Posted on 1/12/09 at 5:40 pm to GoulaTiger
1. Earl Leggett a line for LSU was a long time NFL assistant coach.
2. Billy Cannon Jr went to Texas A&M
