Hopefully, this is the domino that makes the ncaa finally step in and create some rules around this garbage.. They won’t, but if I was UT.. I would tell him to find somewhere else to play.

Absolutely.
This dude isn't worth the NIL he had to begin with.
UTSA or Liberty doesn't have that kind of cash.
Anyone with that kind of cash won't spend it if he can just walk away from it in the future.

Is he even that great of a QB?
I didn’t watch much but just feels like he’s fairly meh

Guess they can just trade him to Akron if he wants to hold out

College sports is fricked. That's one of the reasons Saban retired. Not all players will play for money but eventually it will get to that point. NCAA won't do anything but the conferences had better start to regulate it somehow. This will happen in all sports. Teams that spend the most money will win the championships. Basically be a semi pro league.

Pull his scholarship. Throw out anything in his locker .

Easy…. He signed a contract. You either complete said contract or you’re in breach of the contract which should stop you from having the ability to transfer.

When did the cool kids start to call Tennessee “Tenner”?

Wow, this won't get out of hand or anything
NCAA screwed up royally

The NCAA has a chance to tighten up the transfer portal when NIL blew up beyond their expectations. Instead of removing leverage by making it most costly to transfer they made it easier.

Nico is not as good as he seems to think he is. He has not played up to the hype he had coming out of high school.

Nothing, you’re right they are screwed. Just when you think CFB can’t get any worse, it finds a way.

The NCAA had to loosen up on transfer rules because they got their asses handed to them in court.
quote:
The National Collegiate Athletic Association has agreed to end restrictions on some students' eligibility to play competitive sports when they transfer to a new school, in a settlement resolving a lawsuit by the U.S. Justice Department and a group of states.
quote:
The plaintiffs challenged a NCAA rule that barred some transfer students from playing for at least a year. The lawsuit said the rule restrained student mobility in violation of U.S. antitrust law.
The proposed agreement, which does not include a monetary component, is subject to court approval.
Athletes in the NCAA’s Division I, the highest competitive level in U.S. collegiate sports, “will now be able to choose the institutions that best meet their academic, personal and professional development needs,” Jonathan Kanter, head of the Justice Department’s antitrust division, said on Thursday.

I'm amazed at how many people still don't understand how all this about & feel that the NCAA has any power to step in & do anything. Maybe had the NCAA not stuck their heads in the sand for decades & been proactive in making changes themselves this current situation wouldn't be occurring. Yet here we are & the NCAA is powerless to make any changes.

Only resolution to many of the issues currently surrounding college athletics is legislation from Congress but nothing like that idiotic proposal made earlier this week.

The school needs to pull his scholarship.
