It also depends on what the other schools do.

While most people consider Texas/Arkansas/LSU/Tennesee as the Top 4 teams the league right now, an Interesting thing on current RPI…

Georgia, Vanderbilt and Auburn are currently in the Top4 for National RPI.

RPI rankings

I'm still going with 20 wins being a lock, 19 wins being a maybe, 18 wins no chance.

Also need to avoid getting swept. We can lose 1 series but just can't get swept.

I’d be very happy, that locks up #1 or #2.

I think 19 wins gets you a top 8, but realistically all that matters is being in the top 4 of the SEC. The rpi is so good that any record keeping you in the top 4 gets a national host.

Georgia was a Top 8 seed last year at 17-13 in conference. They were 5-5 in conference series, including getting swept by Kentucky. They were 2-7 against the other conference Top 8 seeds. How exactly do you think LSU going 18-12 translates to “no chance”?

Arkansas didn’t get a Top 8 seed at 18-12 in 2022 with 4 non-conference losses and Ole Miss didn’t in 2021 with 5 non-conference losses, including a series loss to 31-30 UCF, but 3 SEC teams got Top 8 at 18-12 in 2018. The last SEC team with 19 wins not to get a Top 8 seed was Kentucky in 2017, but they got swept by UNC and had a total of 7 non-conference losses. I just don’t see 19 wins as a maybe, and definitely don’t see as 18 as “no chance”.

SEC gonna get 5 of the top 8 national seeds, Oregon St will get 1, ACC will get 2. LSU stays top 4 of the SEC that should be enough to book it, something like 18-12 SEC play should do. Win 3 of the 4 series and it's sealed. 2-2 might be enough too

that's your opinion, which you have a right to. I would need to see other teams around us to declare it a lock. I agree that it would put us pretty damn close if not there, but I wouldn't call it a lock. 20-10 is a lock.

Everyone at the top kinda plays each other to end the season. I think 18-12 gets us a national seed. Maybe need 1 win in hoover.

Anything less than 8-4 in that stretch is a disaster
