Take a deep breath and give me your most logical review of BK's tenure so far

I've gone back and forth on this dude so much. This has been a pretty confusing few years because a lot of times, none of it adds up. We haven't ascended consistently or descended consistently.

How do you walk into the SEC with a completely depleted roster and win the SEC West...then continue to acquire and develop players you recruited/brought in and somehow get worse at certain aspects of the game?

It's great to see a team continue to get better throughout the year but how do you start off 3 straight seasons with a performance that looks like you didn't just have months to figure things out about your team?

Kelly has an interesting way of making it seem like he's turning water into wine, and overachieving given the circumstances. But that doesn't make any sense here. He has found a way to win 10 games in both seasons but can you look back on any part and point to a game where you thought we looked like an elite, title contending team? In all 3 areas of the game?

The guy has won 10 games in both of his first years, brought a Heisman to BR, stayed relevant in recruiting and brought consistency to the program.

Yet I expected a higher ceiling going into year 3. LSU isn't a place that needs over half a decade to rebuild. To me, any coach that's worth the money can have this program competing at the highest level in the first few years.

In my opinion, we're not there right now. And that's frustrating.

It’s a very volatile time in cfb, and feels like we could go either way… top of mountain or bottom of the shite heap. Weird dynamic.

We were as bad off as UF when he got here. Look at how that turned out for them & look at how things are going for us.

House was a bad hire. Letting Raymond walk was stupid. Getting Baker back was brilliant. Sloan… I get why they did it but not impressed.

End of the day if he brings in a top 5 class we are trending up.

Only thing that really bugs me about him are the slow starts & some of the personnel management, but mainly the slow starts.

To make a long story short:

Stabilized program, needs to break through to build momentum.

Near fatal mistake on initial defensive hires that put you off schedule, but corrected.

Recruiting the dudes needed to graduate from 9-3 to 11-1, but have to hold on by having a good season.

The future hangs in the balance but you have to let it ride.

For me, on the surface, I don't like how we can't get a yard on 3rd and 1. I don't know if it's play-calling, strength and conditioning, or both.

He is the same coach he was at ND. A good coach and Lsu is able to pull talent.

But the SEC is tougher.

And yes we won 2 titles with inferior HCs lol

Don't think he's a good fit, he will lose 2-3 games every year and be competitive but will most likely never reach the Pinnacle., and yes I realize we won a title with two retards but they recruited better and made up for coaching deficiencies with being Uber talented. BK is what he is and was at ND

Do you think going forward the team will be more, less or equally as talented as his first three seasons here?

2-3 losses every year. Good coach, not elite. He always loses 2-3. Lucking to beat SC. Hope I’m wrong.

He’s had ascending offenses and decending defenses, especially in the secondary and more especially at safety. First year he had the two Arkansas transfers at safety even though foucha was hurt for most of that season and you had Bernard converse at one of the corners. The players he inherited didn’t get much better lending to the possibility they were even more overrated prospects and/or under developed by the previous staff.

Some things still don’t make sense. Like Matt house using Perkins better in his first year. Does that mean house is better than Baker? I don’t see how, but just adding to the mystery of Kelly’s tenure thus far.

Not buying this yet. My opinion on the future is dependent on how this year / next year classes turn out.

Running a zone read with a QB that refuses to keep the ball will cause this. I’d rather get in Les Miles formation than try and run a zone read that is nothing but a handoff out of shotgun. Defense ends just crash down on the handoff.

His biggest mistake when he took the job was his defensive coach hires. Can't blame the DL coach from South Carolina since he had a medical issue that prevented him from ever coaching. His replacement was just God awful. The DB coaches set LSU back several years.

I’m surprised that our special teams continue to be below our standard. That needs to be addressed.

I’m cautiously optimistic about our class that is committed. We need to find more big guys OL & DL in the portal. Solid lines, good special teams, strong recruiting pipeline & good use of the portal. It’s taken some time to get this dialed in.

His ceiling here will be 11 wins. Good. Just not good enough.
