In some cases yes. Rednecks with ties. The Grove is one of the worst tailgate spots on the planet

It's basically taking everyone who tailgates on LSU's campus and confining them to the parade grounds.

Ive talked to numerous Ole Miss alumni and most of the food is catered in aka finger sandwiches on china.

Yes. Went to an OM tailgate at LSU last year, and they brought with them all of their glass and crystal stemware. It's pretty ridiculous.

They brought glass drink dispensers for their hotty toddy

Uh, no you didn't.

The real rule is this: You use the article “a” before words that start with a consonant sound and “an” before words that start with a vowel sound.

We went 2 years ago, went down to the square and restaurant/bar hopped. Had a great time then decided to go hit the Grove. Walked thru and wished we had stayed on the square. Way more fun. The Grove is crowded, dusty due to the hay bales they throw around and the tailgating is marginal. Next time we go there we'll skip the Grove, one visit was enough.

the grove is packed like a can of sardines and if you are not from there, forget about setting your shite up there...they have a system of paying dipshits to rush in at the sound of the whistle to get their normal spot and staying with it for a night so they can set up on gameday....

I would recommend you just spend the day cruising around and enjoying the sights...

I detest the Grove.
Nothing fun about it.
I've witnessed or experienced Ole Piss fans in the Grove pelting LSU fans with ice, throwing mustard covered hotdogs and even stealing from LSU fans.
I love seeing Ole Miss fans cry. They suck.

And, you will never get a spot to tailgate.....more importantly, it's a waste of your tailgating talent.

Bar hop. Then go to the game.

Even smarter. Party in Memphis.

You wont be able to set up in the grove.

thats a good thing.

Ive been to a lot of LSU/om games in oxford. One of my favorite road trips and my GFs whole family graduated from om.

The grove is ok if you have a spot to just chill (if they have a tv). No grills or generators allowed.....

If not, its going to get really claustrophobic, really quick

gonna have to find another spot to set up.

What advice would you give on where to watch the game, bars to go to? Two of the people in the group don't have tix to the game.

Age? Really anywhere on the square.... cant miss it... its a big square

I normally pass through City Grocery at least once. Good time.

Enjoyed Oxford, but the Grove was entirely overrated. It's packed and wasn't that fun. Wasn't an LSU game and I was with Ole Miss folks so it had nothing to do with the fans. The only thing that impressed me was that by noon the next day, the campus was spotless.

I like oxford, But usually have done tailgating there with ole miss fans. They are weird about the drinking. Can't do it any where outside of the grove, must put it in cups. I recall them dumping peoples ice chests out not in the grove, and they were like in their 40s.

Crowded but subdued.
No cooking.
You can drink but have to keep it in an opaque container.
Very overrated.

Just find out where the LSU fans are at. Usually by the water tower and the Tad Smith. Go there and have a good time until game time. The Grove is worth a walk thru, but don't expect any hospitality.

I been to been a lot of road games. Ole Miss has the worst fans and their tailgating is boring as shite. If you've never been, then I suggest you experience it once to reinforce your hatred of Ole Miss.

Hate to add to the Grammar Police, but this should be "An LSU..." not "A LSU...".

Let's get this down pat before the big game fellas:

Here’s the a vs an rule: The rule applies to the sound of the letter beginning the word, not just the letter itself. The way we say the word will determine whether or not we use a or an. If the word begins with a vowel sound, you must use an. If it begins with a consonant sound, you must use a.

Come on team....focus.

When I went I was pumped to be tailgating there and didn't know anything other than all the hype it received.

The first few posts are spot on. Holy shite was it bad.
