green fencing - answer we got was after the game people were impatient and would cut thru the trees/sidewalks instead of waiting there turn. they want to protect the roots of said trees.

Do you really need to set up your trailer this early for Eastern Michigan?
It's a simple rule, follow it and save yourself the headache.
There was a guy on here during the auburn game bitching because he couldn't park his RV on Wednesday.
ETA and those "after 5 pm" signs have been up all year.

Yeah I can't speak for that guy but all we do is drop our trailer off and rope our spot off. I've always wondered why people set shite up on Friday

We set up our tents every Thursday afternoon and have never had a problem

My conspiracy theory is that it's all a ruse to get overtime for facility services employees that haven't been given raises in recent years due to budget constraints.

Yea this was the first time I've seen the signs. We got there to set up at 3:30 that week since it was a huge game. After waiting a half hour or so, we removed the signs and set up shop... but I did see the fake golf cart police riding around collapsing tents so we hung out until 4:15 or so before leaving. Pretty annoying.

We just put out the tent frames. Only takes about 5 minutes and its just one less thing to do in the morning

Yes, this has been true for the past decade or so. When I started tailgating in the 1990's, you could literally park your cars wherever you wanted on campus, under trees, next to buildings, etc. It was awesome. Slowly, but surely, they made it more and more difficult to tailgate in the traditional way.
Finally, we had enough and quit a few years ago. Perhaps when my kids get older, I will give it another go.
