“Y’all never led last year. Y’all were some bums. 15-0. A Natty. Get over it. Who cares. We got the ring. Whatever. Nothing else matters. Suck it you bum. Better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all. You have nothing to live for. Your expectations: a national championship every single year. If you fall short of that goal it’s nothing but pain. The man who appreciates the light the most is the man who has lived in darkness. So suck it. Who cares. I don’t care. What is this semantic argument you’re trying to get into? Tonight was nothing. Tonight was what was expected. Guess what? Who’s the only program to win three national championships with three different coaches since the year 2000. You have had Bear. You have had Nick Saban. That’s all well and good. Saban’s time will come to an end. What you have here is something that transcends time. What you have here is something that transcends coaches. What you have here is when you get it right — No we’re not comparing resumes Hanny there’s no comparison — They are Siberia, they are the great monolith, they are the USSR. They have nothing to hope for, they have no happiness, they have a single expectation and if they fall short of it it’s only pain. We are Greece. We are Paris. We are art. We are passion. We have ups and downs. And it happens. But the lows make you appreciate the highs. Alabama fans have no perspective. Keith has no perspective. Keith you can’t even enjoy this because it’s what you expected. It’s what you’re used to. There’s nothing special here. Last year when LSU won it was one of the greatest days that I’ve ever experienced. Me. My neighbors. My family. The love. The community. The support that was in the air it’s something that is quite literally irreplaceable. I will die remembering that day. You will die forgetting this day. You will die remembering Clemson when you lost in the Natty a couple of times. That’s the point. So I mean where’s the programs at. You don’t need me to tell you, you know where the program is at. And that’s the saddest damn part is that you calling in this show and trying to victory lap here is you trying to gain some shred of satisfaction that you can’t get anywhere else because you’re so married to this incredibly high impossible expectation that defines your entire being. “

If there was a Gettysburg Address of LSU Football this would be it

T-Bob has been waiting for that call, to give that speech, for awhile now. Absolute takedown of their entire fan base.

T-bob is one of the greatest ambassadors of this university. He loves this school. He loves the players. He calls it like it is with the coaches all the while being able to give statistical and performance insight as a former player.

The fact that a large portion of this board doesn’t like him is mind blowing to me. He is a terrific tiger and a terrific radio personality.

People don’t like him because he feels the need to inject his political beliefs into a sports talk radio show. If he left that out he would get much more love

ETA: I actually enjoy T Bob. Seems like a fun baw to crush a case with. Just needs to chill on the politics

I'll get downvoted into oblivion, but we have the same expectation and have just constantly failed. The lack of satisfaction from them comes from knowing that their revenge was against the worst LSU football team in a century.

I thought it was a dumb rant myself. If that’s our Gettysburg address, then we’re in trouble.

More like Bluto’s pep talk: LINK

99% of the time I cant stand T-Bob. The way he comes off, the way he portrays himself. Its an entitled arrogance. The little brother we all had growing up that didn't have to lift a finger. He never has any hot takes or anything of value to bring to the radio show. He's just a voice.

But I watched and heard this live last night. He was spot on in everything he said. Imagine being a fan of a program where anything short of a NC is a failure. I want that with LSU but I dont expect that.

Law of diminishing returns. Saban looks like he cant stand to be up there hoisting the NC trophy. Very weird.

Fuct T-boob but i'll give him this one.

Does he though?

The only times I’ve seen him inject politics into his show is when something political is going on inside the athletic department.

ETA: Also I bet if he had the same political opinions as the majority on this board and did the same exact thing he’d be held up as a paragon of sports journalism.

Lets be real honest here. The vast majority of people don’t care about politics in sports. They care about politics different from their own in sports.

Wrong. LSU fans may talk a big game about "Natty or bust" but at the end of the day, we just want to make the playoffs, go to a NYD6 game. That's why the win last year against Bama was so amazing. Because we aren't like Bama fans.

As a bammer....he makes some good points. As much as I love Saban, he has created a machine that spawns the "National Championship or bust" mentality. Last season was seen as a failure. 11-2? If we get to the playoff this year and, dare I say, lose, it will be another failure. You can't win it every season....haha! Keep your heads up, tigahs! We knew LSU lost so much that it might be a long season. LSU will be back in no time. Good luck the rest of the way and Roll Tide!

I think we would all like to have a program like Alabama

But what T-Bob was getting at was that Alabama fans... from the extensive interactions I have with them (used to live in Alabama, have friends who are extreme Gumps but have no affiliation with the school, my brother in law is from London and is a Gump)...

Is that they have this odd sense of latching on to Alabama’s success and the success of Alabama defines them. Their team is successful so they think they are successful. Alabama is the best, so they think they are the best. It is a perverted sense of arrogance that at the end of the day is somewhat pathetic. I love LSU football and yes last year made me incredibly happy and I’ve been an LSU fan my entire life... but I don’t think “Yeah suck it bitch my football team is the BEST! Your college football team doesn't win a ton of Natty’s? LOL what a pathetic existence”

Agreed..... we do have our share of arrogant fans. Sadly, probably more than most. The older I get, I've mellowed out. I used to live and die by what the Tide did on Saturday. There is more to life..... I agree. Last year's LSU team was a sight to behold. Hopefully the Tide can replicate that success this season....but if not, it won't affect my life at all. LOL.
