This is probably more about squelching the asinine "Hot Seat" talk by the media and fans going into the season. I have zero issue with it. They buyout has dropped dramatically......10 million, as opposed to what 60 million last year? Not a bad deal for both sides. It also keeps others from negative recruiting against us. At the end of the day the man did what all the "experts" on the message boards said he had to do last year.....make the playoff. He even won a playoff game. The landscape has forever changed.....back away from the ledge. :cheers:

That was the past. Come to the future. The landscape has changed and that is why Coach got out. You can no longer stack 5 stars at every position. The rules have changed. Much like the rules changed to 85 scholarships to keep Bear from having 150 "starters" on the team in order to keep them away from other teams. We have to adapt. 9-3 or 10-2 makes the playoff. That is the goal and winning it every once in a while. What else can you ask for? a 1979-1992 stretch? a 1992-2009 stretch? I remember those days. We have it good......

I hope we win. It will be a tough task. When I step back and look at the big picture…. we are a 4 seed which means we should make the sweet sixteen. As much as I want us to win, at the end of the day we did what we were supposed to do. We did it without a good big. Sherrell plays hard and is starting to play better but he is not one of the top bigs in the country. That being said….great job players and coaches! Good luck to the Vols as well….. hope we play on Sunday!!
