Skenes dominates giving you a 1-0 lead.

Floyd dominates giving you 6.0 IP, 1 ER, 10 Ks, and leaves with the lead.

Who are you bringing out of the pen to send you to Omaha?

Coleman then Herring probably. Maybe Guidry or Money thrown in there. Those are probably the only 4 I’d consider using.

Game 1: Coleman to close it out.

Game 2: I hate saying this, but I bring out Money and hope he can go 2+ without giving up a crooked number. Then I go to Guidry to close it out.

Depends on how big of a lead we have. If it’s more than two, I’d probably go Money as well.

This team can hit their way through a regional and Skenes pitching the marble game. People need to quit acting like some SWAC/Southland team is going to beat LSU in game one of a regional.

We still have to win a 3rd game.

Against a team that is going to be using their 4th best pitcher to start and a bullpen that has already had to pitch in 3 games. I like this team’s lineup to score enough runs in those games.

Supers will be a struggle for this team but they can definitely slug their way through a regional.

Super Regional is best 2 out of 3.

Give me Floyd vs the 2/3 seed's #4 starter everyday.

Right now, Johnson is trying to preserve their arms and not have a repeat of last season when the pitching staff broke down in postseason. I think he lets them both go longer in the Super Regional. Skenes will go at least 8 if necessary and Floyd goes 120 pitches however far that gets him. After that, I probably trust Coleman the most to give 2 innings or less. If they need more than that, I’d go with Money.

I agree. Once it's for the money you let your starter stay in if he's still throwing well and not over shooting pitch count tremendously. I think he keeps Floyd in if that was a regional game.

If he still looks good in the Super at that point I think they keep him in another inning. Several things change once you get to the Supers, including pitch counts. I think you then bring in Coleman, Guidry, Herring etc. and keep them in only as long as they are throwing well, maybe even an inning or less based on the situation. It's all about winning that day in the supers, particularly true when trying to get win #2 to advance, as far as the bullpen goes

Like we did against USM last year? USM could be sent to us this year and they probably have a better pitching staff than us yet again. We don’t have a deep enough staff to hit our way out of a regional. There will be teams sent to us who are better than State, Bama, and Auburn. We’ve had issues against those types of teams, so I don’t get why y’all are so confident that we can get out of a regional.

The problem with that is Jay continues to bring in others instead. Little, Dutton, Hurd, Cooper

The lineup this year is way better than the lineup next year.

The pitching in this team is bad I’m not denying that. My point is the lineup can slug you through a regional after winning the first two games which will be likely.

LSU swept Bama and there is a real possibility you won’t face lineups as good as State or Auburn in the regional. There issues all year were not hitting.

If we're not bashing whoever we're playing anygame post season, we're in a world of shite. Blowing a 9 run lead I'm afraid is an omen.

This team isn't hitting their way out of a regional or super. See last season as an example. LSU scored 11 runs in 18 innings against the bottom of USM's staff. They will need big-time pitching performances to get it done.

LSU went five innings yesterday without getting a hit against 10+ ERA guys. The pitching they will see in the postseason will be better, and coaches will lean on their reliable arms more.

Gotta see who’s in our regional hut I’m not concerned if we get a Maine or SWAC team. Game 1 well pitch midweek arms.
skenes 2, Floyd 3 We’re gonna live and die on our bats. If we’re out of our funk we’ll be fine.

We scored 13 runs Sunday. This is a better offensive lineup than last year. We just can’t hold a lead. 13 runs should be good enough to win a game. Hell 8 runs should be good enough to win 95% of games.
