At this point, I wish we would've gotten Goodrich & Surtain.

No problem, man.

I understand you not getting the parallel.

Working the third shift at the Dairy Queen doesn't give you the perspective to understand how real jobs work.

Yeah all 3 will transfer to sit a year or go to some last chance you program. Get real man, they know competition exists at every program and there are not a lot of other last chance u schools begging for these guys to walk.

Surprised? Did you really think O has the skill set to close a deal like this?

He will continue to "surprise" in recruiting highly sought after prospects that arent DL's or LB's. And when Arranda leaves, add LB's to the list.

O is a better football coach than thought, but not as good at recruiting as hoped.

Laughable. The kid is shying away from competition if he goes to Cincy. But it’s his choice.

Temple, Alabama A&M, SMU, Tulane, Ohio U...

Miami, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Texas A&M...

Which group would you like to tell NFL scouts you played against? AJ McCarron wasn't that great, but his experience in the SEC gave him a shot at an NFL career.

Casanova, Alexander, B. Jones, Hilliard, Mawae, Faulk, Reed, Whitworth, Dorsey, Mauck, Flynn, Russell, Peterson, Brockers, Logan, Mathieu, Landry, Beckham Jr., Fournette, Guice. These guys are revered at LSU and always will be. I remember in the movie Hoosiers, Coach Dale said: "...most people would kill... to be treated like a god, just for a few moments."

Can't think of anyone who played football at Cincinnati.

Sounds like he and his father want a sure thing which O can't give him. Burrow would more likely than not win the starting job. But maybe he has just enough self-doubt that he'd rather settle for a sure thing. I said this earlier: this would be a much bigger case of "no chest" than Gunnar Kiel.

This is only true if you thought he’d be a 10-25 coach at LSU like he was at OM.

He’s probably a 7-5, 8-4 type coach at LSU (at least as long as Aranda is around). 9-4 this past season was lucky for him as so many opponents were bad enough in 2017 to get their coaches fired.

But I believe he’s definitely a downgrade from Miles.

People are underestimating the effect the father may have in this decision.

This isn't a normal father. This is a father with expert football knowledge. Jimmy Burrow has been a DC at an FBS school since 2005.

Jimmy Burrow is probably more qualified to be HC at LSU than Orgeron for goodness sakes.

This was about him evaluating the competence of our coaching staff. If he was unimpressed with the men that would be charged with his son's preparation, I'm sure he gave his son coaching reasons why he felt the way he did. It was probably easy to do if he didn't want his son here in the first place.

That applies to like 99% of the fans. Yes - it would’ve been the most ideal situation.

. It was probably easy to do if he didn't want his son here in the first place.

Then what would be his "professional" reasoning for Cincy?
-Look what it did for 5 star Gunner Kiel's development
-Imagine all the national exposure at Cincy
-After back to back 4-8 seasons I'm sure they will be good this year
-I'm sure you will be able to do better than a 28 point loss to 3-9 E. Carolina like Cincy had last year
-Cincy's high powered 20.9 ppg offense in the American is better than LSU's 27.2ppg SEC offense

Which professional/knowledgeable angle do you think he used?

Just looked at Cincy's season last year. 4-8 with their 4 wins being a 1 point win over Tulane and UConn, a 4 point win over Miami (OH) and a 12 point win over Austin Peay.

Yeah, but the atmosphere at Cincinnati is off the chain!!! There is nothing like it. When the Bearcats take the field, fans get goose bumps from the excitement.

I agree this could play a part if he doesn’t come here.

Daddy is a defensive coordinator. Yes, at Ohio U, but he’s run a unit and gameplanned.

It wouldn’t take this guy long talking to O to figure: “This guy can’t talk to me about SCHEME ... all he can do is talk TECHNIQUE for DL’s. Hell, he’s a position coach in over his head.”

When Kiel went to Cincy they were 9-4. He left them with a 4-8 record. Plus got the coach fired, so . . . .
