Boy you motherfrickers are dense.

If that's what they want to go then let them. They can do that. They have no obligation to go sit in the student section if they don't want to. They have no obligation to stay. It's very cool that's what you did. Doesn't make you any better than those who would prefer to spend their time elsewhere. So hypocritical it hurts.

Not enough of 'em, and whether you people like it of not; after their families and teammates, players play for their peer (fellow students) more than anyone else,

Student support is huge to these players and an involved, rowdy student section and student support trumps the rest of us. We aren't one of them like students are.

You may think we were insane then because we partied over an independence bowl bid and some stormed the field when we beat a barely ranked Tennessee team for the first time in years.

But in the late 90s the students were there.

Damn right we were. Hoarse after every game. First of 9 losses in 98 was the loudest game I've ever been too, and a great one. Damn Champ Bailey.

You idiots are the worst

Blah blah back in my day we packed the stadium an hour before the game and stayed an hour after it was over! Get the frick over yourself and stop patting yourself on the back. Maybe if we don’t hire a shrimp boat captain as a coach and get skull fricked by Miss State the crowd would be more involved. Maybe if we aren’t in a close game with Syracuse in the 4th quarter, fans would be more involved

You ever stop to think that maybe the problem is the program and not the fans?

We had a weird Italian guy with a big nose. We still followed him.

In 1999 we would have been grateful for a close game against a power 5 team in the 4th qtr

When coach Hunter took over and we beat Arkansas we went nuts.

That was one game after fricking Houston curb stomped our asses so don't feed me this MSU bull shite.

If LSU wants the stands more full they need to put a better product on the field

that works in reverse too you know. by having a large vocal crowd it pumps the team up and they play with more emotion. the Syracuse fans were great last night; you could hear them above the LSU fans because they were louder and more enthused.

Then you probably remember when some of the students would boo other students that did leave especially when the Greeks started to bail.

Hell I remember being at a game when everyone was booing Thomas Dunson and I was sitting next to his GF. She told me her mom asked her why she had to date the worst one on the team. lol

You think the product lasy nigjt was worse than 1999? Students werr not void of the stadium then

In 1999 there were no championship expectations. Hell LSU fans/students were quite happy with an eight win season. Students would also go to the game no matter what because the only other way to watch it was on a shitty screen, if the game was even on TV.

Now, we have championship expectations, HD quality of the game that arguably gives you a better view of gameplay, and a crappy team.

I wanted to leave early last night, and I haven't left early in 15 years.

I haven't been in the student section in years, but they gradually got more and more strict about searching people and drinking during games when I was there. Never stopped any of us though.

Curious to hear how it is now

Dumb, when LSU was winning fans left early, there needs to be a better product in the stands and not fair weather fans

I don't blame the fraternity or sorority members at all. I wouldn't support LSU either.

When I was at LSU tickets were like 3 dollars for students and we made it a point to get there early and we stayed for the whole game if it was close or reasonable for the most part. I remember even us staying late for the horrible loss to Southern Miss when Curley was coach in a game during the rain.

I have to say that students in my opinion have too many other options and too much money to spend on other things. It was that Saturday night in tiger stadium was the place to be and when you were in college three dollars for a ticket to a LSU game was seen as a good value.

Students and non-students alike barely showed up, and those that did mostly left early.

As a current student who was at the game last night, what pissed me off more than people leaving early (which I am guilty of in the past) is sitting down during play.

Our defense is on the field and 3/4 of the students are sitting down quietly.
Like at least stand up and try to seem enthused.
