Let’s see where the rant stands with the names bantered around.
Who do you want if it is one of these 3:
A. McDonell
B. Godwin
C. Bianco
I think of the 3 I have to go with McDonell. He came to Louisville in 2007 and here are some of their accomplishments since he got there! What you should also notice is, what their accomplishments were before he got there!!!
College World Series appearances
2007, 2013, 2014, 2017, 2019
NCAA regional champions
2007, 2009, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2019
NCAA Tournament appearances
2002, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019
Conference tournament champions
2008, 2009
Conference champions
1983, 1984, 2009, 2010, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2019
Godwin is young and a very good coach, but unlike ECU which was a very good baseball program before Godwin was HC, that can’t be said about Louisville’s program before McDonell. Godwin joined the program in 2015, but look at ECU’s post season accomplishments prior to Godwin.
NCAA regional champions
2001, 2004, 2009, 2016, 2019, 2021
NCAA Tournament appearances
1964, 1966, 1968, 1970, 1974, 1977, 1980, 1982, 1984, 1987, 1989, 1990, 1991, 1993, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2012, 2015, 2016, 2018, 2019, 2021
Of the three for me it is “A” Dan McDonell
For those adding Vitello, I actually like him the most. What he has done in a short period of time shows how successful he will be going forward. And I can promise you the players will luv playing for a coach with his style “hard but fair on the players to get the most out of them, but even harder on the opposition! Problem is, I have heard from a really good sauce in the AD dept that unfortunately his style has rubbed a couple people at LSU the wrong way and they have been undermining his name.
That is why I didn’t include it, but it will be interesting to see how many write his name in that is fo sho!

A or B is fine if we can't get Vitello. Bianco shouldn't even get a phone call much less an interview.

Anyone but that Tenner coach, we have standards here at LSU. He’s a prick

We already know who it is. It’s
McDonnell

Vitello
McDonell
Godwin
In that order. frick Bianco. Any of those 3 above would be a great hire.

So was Saban when we hired him. Vitello may be an a-hole, but I’d rather him be our a-hole.

E. PsychTiger
Sure, I’ve never played baseball and don’t know how to coach it, but I’m passionate and could use the money.

I'll take A or B. I recall Godwin displaying some fire during his time at LSU. Maybe McDonell is a little tired of the Louisville scene and is ready to move on.
