Said on Rohan's show last night that he originally committed to FSU, on the first night of his official visit. He said he was sitting in Bowden's office the next morning waiting to talk to him. Said Bowden walked up behind him put his hand on his shoulder and said " Mike I'm so glad you decided to commit to FSU". Kennison said he immediately looked at him and told him he was no longer committed and called his HS coach and told him to set up an official with LSU.

Thank you Eddie for giving us a reason to cheer during the dismal early and mid 90s

Miss St players said they heard a whistle and stopped. The whistle was rumored to have come from the stands.

I remember that return. I went from yelling No, No, No to Yes, Yes, Yes. Heck of a return.

When something goes by you that fast, it tends to make a whistling sound.

Electric

Loved him at LSU and followed him his entire career. Had a great one. He never got back to full health after his hamstring injury. After bouncing around, many don't know that he signed a short term ($0) contract because he wanted to retire as a KC Chief.

To be fair, players said that Bowden would call them his sons names all of the time in practice by accident.

I’m sure it was an innocent mistake.

As bad as we were in the 90’s, i went to a game in Tiger Stadium in 94 or 95 vs Moo State. Kennison and Eric Moulds put on an amazing show. One of wildest and fun games ive been to.

when Eddie Kennison was on the field as a KR or PR, you paid attention because he could take it to the house on any play. Parade All-American, #1 WR coming out of HS, and at one time he was the fastest man in the NFL. He ran a 4.28 at LSU's pro day. Some people may not remember that Eddie didn't play his FR year since he didn't qualify academically, as he had to sit out and get his grades in order. Dude lit it up vs. Mich St in the 1995 Independence Bowl with a 92 yd KR and 248 AP yds.

Independence Bowl ; Kennison and Derrick Mason back to back KO returns

Great video and insight from Eddie as the LSU director of Player Development ... rewind it to the beginning

Solid 13-year NFL career as his longest TD catch was 90 yards from Billy Joe Hobert when Eddie played for the Saints in 1999. Although it was only for 1 season, it meant a lot to Eddie to play for the B&G. Kennison was elected to the Louisiana and Missouri Sports Hall of Fame.

I still can't believe LSU was dumb enough a few years later to hire the Michigan St coach whose arse they kicked in that game.
