Yeah but imagine this schedule with Brian Kelly as coach

He’ll burn us in 4 years for the next big job

How many Nattys did we win in this hypothetical situation

Brutal schedule- welcome to SEC football

Watch how Lane uses Leavitt. Defenses will be on their heels constantly

Kirby paid him the ultimate compliment at media days: he hates playing Lane's offenses and all Lane talks about on those coaching text threads is football and what his dad and Derrick Brooks did defensively

Yup wish we had Bama's schedule but we gotta take it one game at a time

We really should have hired him instead of hiring BK a few years ago

Only for the NFL, if he has that itch?
If things are going great and are fun
for him at LSU, which it will be, I bet
he will stay till retirement!

True. Every conference game on the road is tough, no matter where. Lsu most of the time has a crazy game in Auburn, Arkansas and Kentucky. Tennessee hasn't beaten them at home since 2001. Take nothing for granted.

You can’t believe LSU landed a coach that has a history of switching jobs quite frequently and really has not won anything of significance?

My son and I say this every week. We are lucky to get kiffin at the right time.

LSU is one of very few schools where a coach can build a monster of a program.
Building the monster has not been a big issue in most of our lifetimes. Keeping it going for more than a year or two has been much more difficult

Yep. I believe to the NFL though

Watch Golding will leave as soon as he gets a legit chance. Ole Miss isn’t what they think they are. Never will be.
I think Pete is at OM for the next 15 years if he is at least moderately successful and consistent at a competition level in SEC. Don't see him fitting in at many more D1 schools other than OM. OR, he will not meet the OM fan base's falsely elevated expectations and they will show him the door after 3-5 years.
Pete doesn't look like a HC genius and the trend is that the most successful head coaches are offensive gurus. I think it is easier to find an adequate DC to pair with a high scoring offense than to find a great OC to consistently put up big numbers to win shootouts.Plus a great offense excites the fan base much more than a dominant defense which stimulates ticket sales, donations and admission application increases.
OM will fall back to their rightful place in the mix and not be nationally relevant much longer IMO.

Neither can Ole Miss.

I'm more surprised he stayed at Ole Miss as long as he did.

OM fans are delusional if they think they have permanently moved up the pecking order in the SEC. They teeter back and forth with teams like Arkansas SC and A&M.
Texas & OU have established themselves firmly ahead of many programs. OM definitely being one.
