Hell, if he gets a first or scores, people would want to know why we weren’t running stuff like this/mixing it up before last night.

That’s not the point

It was a terrible call considering the swing of the game coupled with the fact that TDP hasn’t had a single wildcat snap in his 3 years here

If that was a wrinkle we had used at some point before then yeah it would be just an unfortunate play but that’s not the case

It was a bad snap. Not a bad call. How do you know the play doesn't get positive yards if Shanahan puts just a decent snap to Davis-Price?

You can't bitch about the play call when they can't even snap the ball. Bitch about the OL not coaching up the center to not understand there's a RB not a QB he's snapping to.

Not as bad as 5 straight first down runs up the middle. It’s like we wanted to be 2nd and 9.

If Price hadn't fumbled and got a 1st down, everyone would have been praising our genious OC. It wasn't a terribly bad play. Shite happens.

Give me a reason it was a good idea or necessary in that spot after we successfully drove downfield and were about to go up 2 scores.

Seems like a wrinkle when things aren’t working. Not the situation there so it was a “terribly” bad play

The only reason you guys think that was a bad call is because it didn’t work. It was a good call. It was a poor snap.

The fact we haven’t done that all year, I think, was my issue. Why try something new?

This was my issue with it too. That being said, if the ball hits your hands you have to catch it. I don't care it you're a QB, RB or 1st baseman.

Maybe TDP didn’t catch the snap because that’s not something he is frickin used to, which is also why he shouldn’t have been called on to do it there. Not even the type of player to be running the wildcat.

How many times this year did peetz call a downfield pass on 3rd and 3? Sustain the drive not go for low % shots.
Yep glad he's gone.

In about 20 years of existence the wildcat has worked about 1% of the time

Yet coaches continue to call it

People will continue to downvote this, but it's the truth. FWIW it could have been Nuss back there in shotgun & the ball would have been snapped over his head.

I don’t know what y’all don’t get. We have run that play successfully countless times this year

Oh wait no we have never run it.

The same Rantards who are melting over the OC calling "something different" are all over this board howling that offensive play calling is "too predictable."
And it caught Arky totally off guard.
It was just poorly executed with the bad snap.
And for those who are trying to say the wildcat is "too risky", without saying that directly because it is facially absurd, its about time to think about the risk of having Nuss heave another pass up for grabs in a short red zone field.
Seems we learned some lessons about an inaccurate inexperienced QB later in the game...
