I don't think that will matter for these games though. The cable provider login is only for things that are being shown on any of the actual tv stations (ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU). ESPN3 exclusive content you gain access to through your internet provider. I'm almost certain that is how it works. Somebody can correct me if I'm wrong.

I bought my sons a Roku for Christmas and the youngest hooked his up to my main TV, so I already have it hooked up, or I would.

I was just planning on going to the Box

. Go Buy a Roku or AppleTV today (I recommend Roku)...order online and have it by Friday.
I'd add Amazon Fire TV to that suggestion - double the processing speed & 4X the memory @ same list price of the Roku 3. The voice search is spot-on & definitely more than a gimmick. Now have 2 of them & couldn't be happier with the performance.

Also if your provider is not listed or supported, find a good friend or relative with supported provider and use their login.
Earlier post suggested you might not need it for ESPN3-only content, though. Not sure about that.

So with my Apple TV, I just turn it to WatchESPN and I'm good to go? No dowloading anything, logging in or signing up? Cool.

Watch espn is one of my favorite things in the world.
It's sooo much better on the Roku. On laptop and ipad it's frustrating, Roku is so good at streaming it just works seamlessly.
