I know there have been several threads about the viewership numbers. I know we are the talk of college football world. Everybody has known for the last decade that we needed an updated offense and we’d be unstoppable except for maybe the Alabama game.

This brings me to my point. Every year teams and fans all throughout the nation pull for LSU to be good and beat Alabama. This happens less in the SEC until the week of that game.

I think LSU has become America’s team. Our Saturday night tradition brings fans from all over the nation. It truly is a Mecca of college football.

Anybody that says it’s Notre Dame, those days are over.

We'll have arrived when we're the team everybody hates.

To be fair, outside of BR/Nola, Dallas has the 2nd largest LSU alumni base in the country. It's not that farfetched to see love for LSU in Dallas.

Out here in Cali I get everybody and their grandma responding to my LSU caps and shirt. I’ve been wearing my LSU gear here for years and this is the first time I get people other than fellow Louisiana transplants walking up to me asking me about the team. It’s been a hell of a ride and I’m not ready for it to end. I had at least 6-7 people just today talk to me at length about our Tigers. Good times boys.

Not quite... we are just the darling this year. Everyone is sick of Alabama and we have the flashy offense, the perfect underdog-but-still-good narrative and the QB with the golden arm. It's all instrumental, someone else could easily take the mantle next year or even next week.
Just enjoy it while it lasts, 15-0 doesn't happen too often.

I believe Houston has that honor. There are two LSU alumni clubs in Houston.

I live/work in eastern NC. Born and raised in NOLA, and attended LSU my FR year (1987). I was able to attend the game Sat night with my son; it was electric!

Back at work yesterday where many people asked me about the game. All of them (none are from LA) said they watched the game and they could tell the atmosphere at Tiger Stadium was off the charts. Many said they are pulling for us.

As noted, this year does feel different. Make it count Tigers! As JB said, 'Don’t let good enough get in the way of greatness'.

Nah, they hate us man.

It's always been that way and always will be.

Yeah some of the national guys that come to br for games live it, but most if the country hasn't been to baton rouge for a Saturday night game.

I mean people in our own state root for bama and root for any team playing against us.

People love us but I think JB is the key. We probably get a huge share in OHIO and OSU fans because he was from there and a bit of a local hero.

at one point we were the most active,
Houston has always been the largest outside of LA.

but you are probably right in 2nd largest.

Shouldn't that reflect in recruiting, if the fan base is that strong in Dallas? Not being sarcastic, honestly want your opinion. I think we should see better recruiting from there, but it's understandable with Texas, Texas A&M, TCU, OK.St and OK all recruiting that area as well.

If LSU winning the SEC can keep Bama from their annual free pass to the playoff, the whole nation will be happy,

As someone who attends Notre Dame it’s kinda true. I have friends up here with no connection to Louisiana who have become LSU fans and LSU is much less hated nationally than ND (though I obviously have issue with that haha)
