Spiegs got a big "ataboy" from the deputy editor Christopher Smith at SECCountry about his "Outstanding Reporting".
Spiegs is also not backing down on the narrative that there is still some boycott conspiracy going on. He caused a massive stir in the LSU community forcing many high school head football coaches and programs to publicly refute his claims.
I'd be embarrassed to show my face or ever write anything again. Really embarrassed. He's pretty much ruined any reputation he may have had as a legitimate reporter. I'll stick with RD for my news, if he writes it you can guarantee it's legit.

Also, all Orgeron probably has to do is show up to some games, return phone calls, and make a visit every once in a while to the HS in question and there you go....relationship repaired, borders built, and boom chitty boom.

I know he's a hack. Just heard him on the radio. You should've heard the way he was pronouncing the names of some of these schools. It was cringe worthy. You'd think that if he's been in contact with coaches from the schools he would at least know how to pronounce their names.
There's a few possibilities here. Someone fed him this BS to get word out that NOLA coaches were unhappy with Coach O. I hope that's the case and he was simply played because the other possibility is that he read the tea leaves and cooked up a story.
If he did cook this story then he just toasted himself in this state.

I think we can all agree that the way this was allowed to play out in the media and on this board was complete and utter bullshite!
Even if everything is true and these coaches grievances are legit there is no way that you air this dirty laundry out like this. I guarantee you one way or the other a bridge has been burned here.....and it may turn out to be not good for anybody.

Credibility is not the currency of "journalists" anymore. Page views, retweets, clicks, and hashtag trendings are. As long as people talk about whatever he writes, he will continue to write it and people will continue to pay him to write it.
And yes, I do realize the apparent contradiction of adding to the discussion of him by discouraging discussion of him. But I did not click on his story link and I have avoided mentioning his name so as to avoid increasing his web-reference scores.

The thing is if the coaches were really upset the way they went about it put JJ in a negative light and put all of his business out there in the public.
They could have expressed their concerns collectively with Coach O and MJoseph. Instead they put JJ in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons.
Then the Aug and LW coaches break ranks and the rest of them look like idiots
