that would be sick if it every happens.

I saw a while back that depending on the number of suites, of course, the total capacity would be around 125,000 if they closed in both ends. I say expand as much as it takes to let as many students in that want to go to the games. I was able to get tickets when I was a student and it must be horrible to be a student and have to try and come up with $40-$50 to go to a game.

When and if this gets done I'll have to park in 6'n Baker for a game. I've had season ticks since 82' but another expansion will be it for me.

And just how awesome would it be on a normal day to drive "underneath" the stadium and be something else to set us apart in terms of the rest of the country
Southern Miss Staduim, has the hall of champions? not sure if that is what it is called, but retired jersey numbers hang under one of the side stands and you drive thru it and are supposed to honk your horn.
For what it is worth
Would be a cool idea for tiger staduim also.

I think they should institute a system where upon entering your ticket is scanned and marked as occupied for the game. After the end of the first or second quarter all seats that haven't been occupied should be resold on a first come first serve basis for a relatively cheap price.

If you don't like the new west upper deck design you need to blame it on the architects. MAPP built what was designed.

If you notice the pictures of Tiger Stadium, they are always taken from the North or South endzone. That is because there are no giant concrete pylons holding up the upper decks and the actual stadium can still be seen.
If the put decks in the end zones then the entire stadium will be covered up by those pylons. It would look...not good.

That's why it would only be the S Endzone to get any expansion.

OOPS. I saw the correction on contractors and the new west being done by Yates.
Posted on 4/15/08 at 8:57 am to tacotiger
So now all the pictures of the stadium would be from the north endzone?

You'd need a freakin telescope to watch the damn game.

Just wow. If that ever happened, LSU's stadium will clearly blow out any other.

North endzone upper deck will never happen. They don't have room to add on to that side of the stadium. All we are gonna have is a south endzone upper deck. Mainly suites with more bleacher seating above that. That will still put us at around 105/108k. That's plenty enough and after that I would expect more renovations to the actually no stadium. No more expansion.

Nope, Yates Construction. MAPP did the other side.
And they both lost $$$ I wouldn't expect either one to submit a bid. TAF is a tough customer.

I would like to see LSU update the scoreboards. Modernize them a little and upgrade the PA system. I don't want HUGE jumbotrons but a little larger than the ones we have now would be nice.
The scoreboards are relatively new, and they weren't cheap. I wouldn't expect them to be replaced too soon.

Went there in '06, the view is nosebleed, the seat space ridiculously small..but did enjoy the trapped accoustical noise.
The Tenn fans we sat by said that they had added 10k seats to the stadium one off-season some years back without doing any construction. They just scraped the seat numbers off and moved them closer together. That made sense to me because I literally had to watch the game sideways. I don't wan that for TS.

I agree, fix the dorm rooms in Tiger Stadium, suites, restaurant, casino, gold club whatever. It's like owning a nice house and two rooms are f't up. Could be some revenue there LSU is missing out on.
My understanding is that there is some serious asbestos abatement that needs to take place before the dorms can be used. Also, they would have to meet ADA in order to be used. They outlook on this has so far been why do one if you can't do the other.

The scoreboards were installed in 1999, and they were actually donated by Cox or some other entity. It was part of a statewide deal and you will notice that several other schools in the state have the exact same scoreboards. The scoreboards, though an upgrade at the time for LSU, were already antiquated at the time of installation.

TS domed up would be crazy, down right insane, becoming the definition of "noise in a stadium" lol
I do think the scoreboards need some beefing up, like they said no need for jumbotrons right now just bigger
but could you imagine over 100K that would be very nice and awesome ...
the notion of giving the entire N. endzone to the students ... to dream the impossible dream, it just wouldn't happen, it would be great & I'd love it, BUT let's face it, LSU would much rather get people to pay around $50/game instead of $12
And we're all crazy enough to pay it so why shouldn't they?

I think Tiger Stadium looks just fine how it is.
Renovate the old dorms, the jumbotron, PA system, and guts of the stadium before talking about expanding to more empty seats.

I can't wait. Death Valley will be like no other. I do expect more luxury seats for the homos out there that can't tough it out with us poor folk. It kind of ruins the experience.
