The scoreboards are relatively new, and they weren't cheap. I wouldn't expect them to be replaced too soon.

If I'm not mistaken, didn't Bank One buy the scoreboards for LSU at $ 1 million a pop? So LSU shouldn't have been out any money on this.

There's got to be a way to just insert new video screens into the current score boards. Uncle Stu needs to make this happen!!

great pics, i think you guys should eventually make a complete bowl out of tiger stadium. think of how much more of a loud atmosphere that would create. but, it looks as though it would come close to taking out what looks to be the pmac i think. i don't know where everything is laid out on campus and outside the stadium so forgive me if i got that wrong.

If we took out the PMAC, it would be ok with me.
I think we should try improving the existing stadium before expansion.

Here is the situation. The first stage, which will occur in the next three years will be more club seating around the south endzone. At that point, they will either increase the bowl around or wait to do that down the line. Personally, I like the idea of making it a tough ticket and adding the club seating to have our attendance hover around 95k.

A north stadium expansino wouldn't directly affect the PMAC, but it would require getting rid of N Stadium Rd (the street the players and band come down, between Tiger Stadium and the PMAC and Mike the Tiger's habitat).

Getting rid of that street isn't bad in and of itself... there's already talk in the campus Master Plan of turning it into a walking area only, if I'm not mistaken. Traffic control and parking for an additional 20k+ fans from N and S upper expansions, on the other hand, would be a nightmare. It's already pretty bad at 92.5k (with estimated 100k+ on campus for a given home game when also counting tailgaters who don't have tickets).

Wow that was a serious bump and according to the timelines this should have already happened. So is this thing dead now or what?

I thought the only real hold up was that TAF was actually fiscally responsible and that they wait till the other projects are paid off.

The North Side is to far away to be bowled in. Now the South Side is a different story.

There are beautiful photoshops of new endzone decks but what holds them up? There would be massive structure similar to new E & W decks that would would require roadway realignment.

Ok, everybody cool it with the renderings.

From the link just posted:

“The south end zone poses some huge problems,” Alleva said. “Unless you hang the new seats over the old ones, they are so far from the field they wouldn’t be conducive. And by backing them you go out to (South Stadium) road and you’d have to redo the road and the parking lot. “I don’t think that’s a viable option, so I’ve asked our architects to come back with a new plan.

why do we have to cool it? People just asked what it would look like, nobody said it would work. But thank you very much for the info that was the main thing people were wanting.

I would be all for getting season tix in the S upper if they let us move to the the east and west sideline lowers after the first quarter when the other fans head out for the night. Maybe they could run and escalator to each side so my fat arse wouldn't have to miss much of the second quarter from the long walk.
