How bad would the seats suck at the top of that expansion?? I think the top of the South Endzone is pretty high as it is now...I can't imagine the seats at the top of an Upper Deck expansion in the endzone. The sideline upper decks offer decent views, but an endzone upper deck seat at that height would require some serious binoculars.

What's up Daniel? Scottie sat in UF's two year's ago and said it was waaaay up there buy not really that much different from out EU seats. I think the expansion is a 10 year dream at best. Anyway, Melissa and I both got really sick on the drive home so that's why we haven't called yet. We're going to get a crawfish plan together soon.

Neyland in BR..I like it!

Bama's Bryant-Denny is already on the case of enclosing their small endzone, with either a duplicate to their latest addition, or one without the suites..gonna try to eclipse Neyland.

Can we get one of those bungee catapults like they have down in Destin for the North endzone? How long would the line be at $50 a pop to zing out over the playing field during the game from the student section?

See: Neyland Stadium- biggest and worst stadium in the SEC

And that is where most of the visitors sit. The stadium looks like its held up by duct tape and siding, the metal seats are about 2/3 the size of the seats in TS and its cold... really cold.

Neyland is a giant erector set..but aren't they planning to brick the exterior soon?

Went there in '06, the view is nosebleed, the seat space ridiculously small..but did enjoy the trapped accoustical noise.

I think expanding the south would add 10,000 seats to put us in 6 digits. It would not add 25,000.

Again a rumor my friends had talked bout said that something is being done as we speak with regards to the old dorms, something bout a crew going in there and saying it was unhealthy and had to be gutted, so instead of just gutting it and leaving it the school was looking for investors to set up "mini suites" where you could spend the night before and after games and have a place to tailgate in the stadium again don't shoot me if its a lie just some rumblings I have heard and no none of my friends can make it happen they are all just students who used to work there

if they added to the south only. that's gotta top 115,000 total for Tiger Stadium.
Someone guess?
Both sides would top 130,000.
15,000 on each side.
that's what happened when the east side was added- +15,000 more.

Your math is a little wrong.

adding 15,000 would make it 107,000. Adding another 15,000 would make it 122,000.

Plus 15k+ is a little generous considering each deck added so far was closer to 13k+ for each (92k current capacity-79k pre-Upper East). I assume the South/North Uppers would be lower in capacity due to the endzones not being bigger than the sidelines.

120K for both would be a more realistic estimate.

Tiger Stadium and Bryant Denny could both seat as many at UT if they did this. I love my wife, but we always say we get ALOT closer every other year when we have to play in Knoxville because when we're not standing and cheering, we have to sit on each other's lap because of the 4 inch wide seating in the upperdeck visitor's section !!!

Our fans already dont show up for lesser opponents and complain about our home schedule not being worth going to all the games. I hate to think we'd have an additional 10-15 thousand empty seats for what fans think is a game unworthy of their attendance.

No, it only added about 11,000 and change. Capacity went from about 80k to 91.6k.

With 10-15,000 more seats, maybe the extra money from selling them would enable LSU to FINALLY, at long last, after years of futile efforts, do what practically every other Div. I-A school has done routinely throughout its history and actually schedule a few ROAD games outside the conference (and not Tulane). If we ever pulled off that miracle, we could probably get better opponents who WOULD be worthy of the fans' attendance by promising a road game at their place in exchange for the home game at ours.

I agree, fix the dorm rooms in Tiger Stadium, suites, restaurant, casino, gold club whatever. It's like owning a nice house and two rooms are f't up. Could be some revenue there LSU is missing out on.

Suites, not connected to EU or WU, additional 13,000 seats is what I have heard. Perhaps 15K additional capacity total.

Who knows, it isn't even funded, designed, or being discussed in great detail yet.

I think they are more likey to go with a deck type design in the end-zone rather than traditional staggerd setback bleachers. Check out the design for the new Texas Stadium. It will hold an additional 25,000 in the endzone deck.

Looks great.

My only comment, though, is where does the South Endzone jumbotron and scoreboard go?

This should be a great opportunity go invest in the latest in an HD LCD scoreboard/video monitor. ie U of Texas.
