9 conference games are better than 8. No one wants to see 3 rent a win games.

I can just imagine a LSU home playoff game...
It would be insane
frick all of those people that ruined that.

This mean we get rid of conference championship games, right?

24 is way too big. 16 is too big but I can live with. Now it's starting to get ridiculous. Pretty much anyone with participation reward can make the playoffs with 24.

I just want to take this opportunity to say God Bless Jerry Stovall…He was a great football player but more importantly he was an even better person. He gets my vote as the best player/person in LSU history…

The regular season and games are going to lose so much meaning/importance.
You can prob pick 20 of the 24 teams at the start of the season, and the remaining 4 teams are going to come from a pool of about 15-20 teams, and the rest of college football will be irrelevant, so top players will flood to top schools even more.

With NIL more shitty teams will eventually get better and the playing field will ultimately be more even,
That’s the future of college football. Don’t think it’s fun when bama was buying every player and winning a natty 2 out of 3 years. shite sucked.

The only benefit I see is that this will let more deserving teams in. That is, mid-tier teams from superior conferences, previously displaced by the likes of Tulane. Will make the final rounds very SEC-heavy.

Whatever though, LSU will be in every year so that’s cool with me.
Why? It would make playoff inclusions to be meaningless.

Great, we let the idiot Big 10 Commish have his way. The same dude who helped run the NBA into the ground. Came from MLB too. Two leagues where there are endless playoffs.

Oh heck, just go ahead and make it 64 teams and start the post season earlier, we can call it Holiday Madness. The 12 team playoff essentially flushed the traditional bowls anyway. Gotta make that money. At least the rent-a-win playoff games will give the directional schools more nationwide exposure. Can’t wait to fill in my bracket.

That’s all you’re going to get now. Home and home matchups like with Clemson aren’t going to happen now with 9 conference games.

I would be okay with 16 or keep it as it is and get rid of the DEI bid.
Posted on 9/30/26 at 6:49 pm to Allthatfades
So insanely dumb. LSU could literally lose to Texas, Moo State, Ole Miss and Bama and still be in the top 24 and get in at 8-4. They're going to destroy the regular season which is the best thing college football has going for it.
They should keep it at 12 and get rid of the automatic G5 and just put the top 12 teams in.

No one wants to see injury after injury, and have the season so long that teams are playing 2nd and 3rd stringers in the playoffs and championship games.
8 SEC games is plenty especially with the added playoff games.
I also think they need 2 bye weeks.

This is getting comical. I say 6 super conferences of 4 teams each. Let the entire season be the playoffs. Play 36 games at the rate of 3 games per week. Why not?
Football all day every day.

Geeze.
