We have a mid-tier coach, so it fits the bill.

The bleachers down the side is straight up embarrassing and should have been taken care of long ago

FYI, I would have added Vandy if not for the turf. It negates it from any list.

LSU bungled so many infrastructure projects in the late aughts.

Tennessee just added turf too, but in doing so they drastically cut down on the practice and game time lost due to weather. So I get why they did it.

But frick everything about Vandy and their second rate bullshite turf field, #VandyBoys, and their Party City Mafia Don uniforms.

ETA: I know part of Vitello's contract extension included assurances of facility upgrades, so they will be doing something with their stadium in the next few years probably as well.

the batter's eye needs to be replaced yet again
make a more permanent one

Good thing is the new box can be renovated over time to improve several things especially down the left and right field lines and beyond the outfield if they so desire

they wanted it to “feel” like the old box

Other than field dimensions and orientation (N-S-E-W), that’s stupid. I would think the pitchers/catchers would prefer not having to duck for foul balls, and fielders would prefer not having to run over a pitcher’s mound while trying to catch a foul ball.

You can't exactly claim to have a super nice stadium when most of your seating is metal bleachers and you have a large maintenance equipment yard 20 feet from your outfield wall.

Right here! That "large maintenance equipment yard" between the batter's eye screen drives me nuts.

They also need to put the Tiger Eye or some other LSU logo to dress up that bland and tacky looking indoor football practice facility dominating the view out in left field.

See A&M:

To be certain though, The Box is still a quality yard.

Alex Box doesn't need a complete rebuild, but I think the University needs to revamp the outfield and create a unique experience for students. Sticking them down the right field line is a disgrace for some of the best fans in the country. Outfield bleachers need to go.

The Box is nice, but just very bland and generic. It appears they wanted to build a nice stadium but also cut corners wherever they could. Chairbacks down both the 1st and 3rd base line seems LONG overdue.

It could stay top 50 nationally if they made no changes for about 5 or 6 years. Just aren’t that many “great” stadiums outside of the SEC. Big 12 has a couple. TCU comes to mind. Texas is getting an upgrade. ACC is also meh overall. FSU is just as sad as LSU but it’s much older. I think they have plans to do a complete rebuild.

Just looking at Ballpark Digest, Oklahoma State is close to redoing theirs I think. Georgia Tech is fundraising for a renovation it looks like. VCU and UCONN have also announced new stadium plans.

frick that. We have 6 national championships. Just because our fans think we should win one every year doesn’t mean we should take it down.

Agree with upgrades ! They aren't going to build a new Box anytime soon, so upgrade and go BIG ! SEATS instead of bleachers , make the entire outfield a pavilion, beer gardens, connsessions, standing room to watch the action, but make a "Monument Park" for the statues and have plaques of retired #'s, players and greats just a thought ...

All chairbacks down the lines would reduce capacity, right?

It would. And so what? We don’t fill the box anyway. And we would still be in the positive for revenue.

It’s not for from being mid-tier and there’s huge separation between the Box.. state and Arkansas .
