Something that bothers me about Lane Kiffin despite my affinity and belief in him

I haven’t been very impressed with his feel for the game and completely lacking nuance. I’m not opposed to going for it on fourth down but this season the team has been completely off on intuition and going with the deep innate feeling of what’s best for the team instead of what analytics tell you to do.
I just say that frustrated as we bypass three points too often for a sam Leavitt bed wetting and a dramatic shift in momentum. I still believe in lane and think Sam could have a HUGE second season but it’s been disappointing seeing him consistently mismanage the team. I just think he’s way inside his own head too often.

Have some of you never watched a Lane Kiffin game before?

His intuition and feel was impressive at ole Miss overall. It cost him at times but it’s undeniable he was looser and went with intuition more than what he’s given us this season.

Kiffin wouldn’t have beat Georgia in the playoff game last year. He chokes in the big moments. That can change and for our sake I hope it does.

His decision making cost him the game against LSU in 2024

I wanted him before we hired Kelly. I wanted him last year.
He flat out shite the bed for the second time this year and got out-coached and lost to a lesser team.
He doesn’t have a feel for each game and how the “personality” of a game is unfolding.
He may not be that good.

He almost beat Georgia in Athens and had them beat had Pete Golding made even a single stop. I strongly disagree.

And won it for him in 2025

I’ll say it time and time again: lane had a much better intuition and feel for strategic management for the 2025 ole Miss team than this LSU team.

Go listen to what Kiffin says about the portal. He constantly talks about how they use it not only to plug holes, but build depth.
They don’t usually go get one year mercenaries. They go get guys who they believe will stay and be with the program for 2+ years.
Ole Miss’ current roster is littered with guys from the portal in year 2 or 3.
Give it time.
ETA: One thing about this class is it’s a lot of guys who COULD return, and they brought in several linemen that were pure depth pieces.

It doesn’t deter my belief he gets us where we want but he makes 13 million dollars a year. Take a Xanax and let loose. He deserves time but it’s fine to demand better than this.

I have no doubt lane is eventually going to win big, but he needs to do a better job managing this team. Plain and simple.

It's just an LSU thing he sure seemed to know what he was doing last year.

This team is what it is so “managing” it doesn’t matter.
There were plays to be made tonight that weren’t. Some of it is on the coaches, but some is also on the players.

This is gong to sound like cheap trolling, which I’m not above, but this time I’m not doing: that’s autism. Have you ever worked with autistic people? That’s their primary weakness.

Sam has been a real problem but it’s lane kiffin’s job to make the most of a 50 million dollar roster. I can love the guy all day but 6-3 at this point is a joke.

I honestly think the pressure here is already getting to him

He clearly doesn’t know THIS team. Hopefully as he builds the program we see more of Lane, but something is off about how he coaching making decisions about this group. It sucks.
Damn near every decision he’s made has been wrong.
