2 things missing from CPM, 1. He doesn’t understand offensive baseball at all 2. He doesn’t know how to handle or evaluate pitching. He’s been great at setting up stellar defensive units but he’s lacking in the other two areas. Everything ends and it just seems like his time has run out.

I think it's a good possibility, I know things aren't the same without my dad around anymore. Changes your perspective on a lot of things.

I’ve never liked his demeanor or style, the program has become stagnant and needs a change

The problem is at the plate. We have 3 guys who are aggressive and the others are too stoic without fire. Especially with two strikes. That’s the time to just hit the ball. How many times has bianca and Hal and others gone down looking ? Too many times ! Just get up there and hit the damn ball.

“Trent Vietmeier has done a great job all year, and he at least made them earn it,” LSU coach Paul Mainieri said after the game. whats that make them earn it come on paul

No. I think our fans spend too much time trying to rationalize defeat by looking at our coaches demeanor

and you seem bent on making every fuqing excuse in the book for this slug.
This team was underperforming BEFORE the injuries.

GTFOH with these tired excuses.

It's his own damned fault. This team is a mirror image of PM as a player. Weak hitting Billy Ballers.

He's looked that way for years.

I personally disagree

I am with the OP here. CPM has always had a scowl, but he showed at least negative aggressive emotions in his body language and the words he spoke

He looks and sounds dead on the inside this year.

Could be, a close death effects everyone differently. Prayers to him if that is the case

Looks even more like CPM has lost the fire. Hope he recovers.

I think he's human and losing his father has taken a larger toll on him than this board would admit.

He’s a miserable human being in general, so that is why he looks that way. Never gives his players any positive reinforcement after doing something good. He was doing that before his dad passed away. Watch next time someone scores a run, drives in a run, makes a great play defensively and he just stands there stone faced as they pass him up. He treats them like their professionals and they aren’t.

Burned out. No fire. Needs to retire to allow some young blood with vision and fire to take the reins.

LSU brand is swag. LSU’s Brand is fiery. LSU’s brand were LSU Batters staring down pitchers and talking shite. LSU’s brand was getting into a pitcher’s head. This team is like watching a funeral. No emotion.. no swag.

Our fans making excuses for mediocre play is part of the problem. LSU has become a huge disappointment in baseball since 2009.. choked away two CWS titles.. 2013 and 2017
