This was so out-of-family from what I've seen for the first 10 games I'm just trying to understand how'd we/he (Chief) did it?

Was it scheme? Matchups? Weather? (taking a likin' to this stiff, wind-driven dew stuff). Did someone just put the plug in and now all the lights on the tree came on?

Whatever. Great effort Tigers! Keep it up.

Talent. Young, emerging talent. Go rewatch the Bama game, and you'll see that we hung tough well into the second half before wearing down.

A&M might have stats and a scrambling QB, but they don't have near the overall talent Bama does; they aren't going to physically wear us down.

A little of everything written here but also this; the Chief is as good as it gets when it comes to dialing up schemes to match "spread" or "read-option" teams. Oregon in '11, A&M the past 2 years....He seems to have the defense play much more agressive and keeps the predal to the metal the entire game (Clemson seemed to be the one time this didn't apply.)...Also seemed to rotate line a lot more today keeping the front 4 fresh...Great game...

Did you notice that A&M's recievers were not running all over the field wide open? We have the talent to cover ALL of their recievers man to man....This in it's was enough to give us an edge.
Also, Johnny Football has a hand injury of some kind on his throwing hand. We used up the clock to keep JF from having so many chances....no prevent Defense.....that should hold you..!

Young defenses benefit greatly from playing at home. Defense played very well at home against auburn, Florida, and A&m.

A number of things contributed to the defensive performance. Young defense improving. Going man to man for the entire game, simplified things for the youngsters. With this they didn't have to think to much, just play off instincts and natural ability.

If JFF connects on a few of those passes tht his wrs dropped it may be a different game. It kept them out of rhythm all game.

Our dbs did an awesome job though. Many times JFF had nobody to throw to and the dl played their containment well

I think there's truth in every post here. I would like to add motivation. This defense was MOTIVATED. deep down motivation. the kind of motivation that noone, even a coach, can give you. they really wanted to win this game. this group has been maligned this year and they have not performed up to LSU standards of defense. the fans and the media have been telling them that and according to the broadcasters last night even some of the aggy players called them soft. not tough enough. the bell was answered.
