When we get O off our necks it will be game on! Plenty of cash laying around.

You can be squeaky clean and still have a killer instinct.

I don't think you can win here with 3 stars
It depends on if you can develop them and have a team full of juniors and seniors who have bought in. Some of those types of teams can be really good.
There are some very talented teams in the SEC, but they aren't going that far in the tourney. Experience and team chemistry can go a long way with great fundamentals. It seems that guys are only together 1 or 2 years now and lack that experience & chemistry. He will need some studs on the roster here and there though along with experience to meet/exceed expectations.

In a vacuum this sounds great, but its not a reality in todays world of one and dones and the transfer portal.

I am quite surprised we pulled a coach of this caliber. Kudos to Woodward on this one. Still needs to solve the actual players side of it though.

Yeah, honestly, that had slipped my mind..
However, I still would say there were no “thugs” on his teams.
Yep. The story I remember on Wayde Sims was that it was a video game sale gone wrong.
If that's not what happened, I don't want to know.

That was Clyde Edwards and one other player.

Johnny Jones teams may have scored 6 points off of inbounds plays his entire tenure at LSU. From what I saw, his philosophy was legit “just lob it back near mid court and set up the offense”.
Will Wade was a little better here, but this past season we struggled to inbound it. Our screens sucked and I never cared much for who we chose to make the in bounds pass.
It would be awesome to grab some cheap buckets in under the goal in bounds plays.

This has Mike White 2.0 written all over it. Hope I’m wrong, but I don’t expect him to bring in talent to compete anywhere near the top of the SEC on a consistent basis.
You can be fundamentally sound, but the SEC is now a league where you have to have dudes.

From same source (I only have one) that said WW was trouble the day we hired him, said he doesn't know how McMahon will translate to coaching in the SEC, but we couldn't have hired a better person/coach. He's extremely detail oriented - and is a process guy.
A family member that was a pretty good player got caught up in WW's crap, and it didn't win any fans in our family.
I'm backing McMahon...Geaux, Tigers.

I don’t disagree. But one was, unfortunately, murdered in a North Baton Rouge fight.
Wayde died protecting his friend who was being jumped at Southern’s homecoming. I wouldn’t consider that thuggish at all.

I’ll give you upvote here, if you think Oates, Muss, Cap, Pearl and Barnes are going to stop recruiting 5*s and will be out Xed & Od by some squeaky clean up and comer, you people don’t understand today’s game at all. The old farts will love a bunch of moral victories from the 3*s, the SEC isn’t George Mason with developing 5th year seniors with a tournament run every 5 years. This league is becoming a one and done game with whoever has the best players today.
We had a bunch if 5* and we couldn’t make it out if 1st round to a much lower seed. Need the x and o coach too

Tell me one player that Wade recruited that exhibited any kind of “thug life” mentality or personality?

We have NIL now so he can stay clean and just point to who he needs.
