Summary:

LSU was on an amazing 20+ game win streak and faced the #6 Florida gators in their biggest series of the year.

Then they got owned. Dominated. Fans went from excited to mad. All will be fine after they start winning again, and hopefully they learned some things that will get them to the next level.

This leads me to believe the OP has a daughter on the team who is not getting the playing time he want to see, or he wants to be coaching and can't........

My step daughter played softball from coaches pitch to highschool, and is headed to JC. Having lived through tournament teams/all star teams and even league play, softball parents are 10 times worse then baseball parents.

you are one of the people that spouts off about the softball team and you don't have a clue what you are talking about. we beat north carolina when they were ranked . we beat depaul , they were ranked. we lost 4 game to ranked teams buuy i run each. the baseball team gets beat by some in state school and oh well but the softball team gets beat by avery good team and they are doomed to chash and burn. stick to your men sports something you may know something about.

now it comes out . you are completely right. i'll bet this guy hasn't been to a game. florida gets fan support for softball. they set a record this weekend . filled the stadium they 6 deep around the fence. if we had fans here that would do that we wouldn't lose in our park either. this team is not dead you will see and eat your words. as for coach g she is the 2nd best coach in the us right now. the only one that has a better record is the arizona coach which also coaches team usa.

The sweep by Florida does say something. I hope it doesn't stop this team for good. We will see what they have got when they play bama, another ranked team. I am not sure about Yvette and yes we have season tickets.

lsu has never been the most dominating program in the sec they have had their years here and there but yall make it sound like it was a decade run of us dominating and she is a great coach at any level. softball is a game that a good pitcher can dominate even more so than a baseball game so sometimes its better to be quiet than to open your mouth and sound like an idiot people

do like Brodhead used to do. Realize that the marketing of successful minor sports, is marketing you CANNOT BUY OR GET OTHERWISE! DAMMIT

Say what you want about Broadhead but the man did an amazing job at LSU at bringing in the talent and our teams did well in nearly all areas. He did this with an athletic program that wasn't all that focused when he came in. He and his wife went to every sporting even that they could possibly make, often splitting up to attend events scheduled at the same time and developed relationships with coaches and players alike. This was genuine on their part as I had the pleasure of getting to know them over the years that I was at LSU. I am worried that we're falling off the pace in some of the "minor" sports. It's time for Van Chancellor to go as the lady's basketball program is in dramatic decline. I know that LSU had a record year last year with getting so many teams into post season play but we still fall well behind Florida in that regard. It's time to really step it up and take it to the next level.

We need to keep supporting this team. It is a great group of women and they are going to make some noise down the road.

Florida is an awesome team like no other. Every player on that team can hit a HR. I expected us to lose 2 out of 3 and didnt surprise me that we lost all 3.

The real yard stick will be this week at Bama. Bama lost 2 out of 3 to Florida last week at Bama. I think we are similar talent wise to Bama and should at least split with them but home field does have its advantages.

Talent wise....pitching is key. It takes time for a pitcher to learn how to pitch. Even though Fico was awesome in high school it will take time for her to learn how to pitch to very good teams.

LSU has the most SEC titles and the most SEC tournament titles.

This team is still fairly young with some great pitching. It was their first road series vs a great team. They'll be ok.

No need to panic because they got beat by a very good Florida team.

The program went into a steady decline when she arrived.

Has it? The softball team has won five total conference tournament titles (which is two more than the next closest team), four of which have been since 2001 which is when Girouard got here. The league has only been playing softball since 1997, LSU didn't even win the first two tournaments. Do some research before commenting on something you know little about.

Florida has won the last two tournaments, perhaps other schools have started putting more resources into their softball teams. It happens, but LSU isn't too far behind. The new ballpark will only help in the future as long as some fans show up.

Ummm, we are not 0-7 against ranked teams. That's bullshite, and you know it.

Look. I am in no mood to get into a softball debate right now, but i will admit that i am going to be very disappointed if we leave Tuscaloosa swept.
