So when does LSU retire Burrow’s jersey & place his name in the ring of honor?

Dorsey didn’t win the Heisman.

If we win the title he deserves a statue

Not even joking and I’m not big on statues

You want to retire his jersey or #9?

I'm down for retiring his jersey, but recruits will want to be #9.

Lol at comparing Glenn Dorsey to the biggest star in LSU football history

ETA - I agree that its dumb to retire a number in college football.

Wait what does it mean to retire a jersey if you don’t retire the number?

It’s not really retiring if there is no way the guy can comeback and wear the jersey anyway

OR it can turn into another #18 (#7).
I mean, I don't really care. Burreaux already engraved his name in LSU history.

You gotta see how his pro career goes. You retire it well after his playing days are over.

If he wins a natty and Heisman I am sure it won’t be long

I’m pretty sure nobody ever wore 20 again after Cannon. I think it was basically unofficially “retired” once he won the Heisman.

It was immediately retired, officially, after the 1959 season.
Casanova and Stovall’s have also been officially retired.

Once Joe hoists the Heisman, no one should wear #9 again. Just as Lsu did with Billy, they should do it to honor Joe.

Agreed. No one should ever wear it again. Sorry to those who for some reason find it dumb or silly. It’s a sacred number now. At the beginning of the decade it was a number that lived in infamy. It is now one of the most sacred in LSU football history.

If he wins the Heisman (which he pretty much already did nearly a month ago in Tuscaloosa), Burrow’s name and number should be displayed right next to “#20 Cannon” on the East side upper deck or wherever they’re putting the retired numbers. It should be there before the opening kick of the 2020 season next August and unveiled at the first home game. The Heisman trophy is such an achievement that his number should absolutely be retired the moment he steps off the field for the last time as a Tiger.

#9 will never be worn by another LSU or Saints quarterback ever again.
