So what did y’all think of the experimental NIT rules?

I liked the extended 3 point line and widened lane. Opened things up a bit. 4 quarters was different but I could get used to it. The offensive rebound shotclock resetting to 20 confused everyone I think.

Liked the 3 point line.
Indifferent about the lane, but I'd leave it the way it was.
Disliked the quarters.
Disliked how the quarters impacted fouls and the bonus situations.

So basically, move the 3 point line back and leave college basketball alone.

I like every single rule change and hope they adopt them full time ASAP. Especially the quarters and the lane width.

Oh.... and next year, if a coach calls a timeout to rub a win in someone's face.... he should get an extra bonus 30 second timeout to do it again.

1. LOVE the widened lane. I honestly think Wednesday would've been a different result if the lane wasn't changed. Reath had so much room it was silly.

2. No strong opinions on the three point line. I'd be fine with keeping what we got. More points is always better in my opinion.

3. I like the 20 second reset for offensive rebounds rule to speed the game up a bit, but yeah it'll take some adjustment for the players

4. LOVE the four quarters and I'm so confused why NCAA men's is literally the only level to not use it. The less but longer breaks gives better players more time to rest and play more. Hell if Waters didn't get into foul trouble he could've easily played 40 minutes. Four quarters is great for the game.

The wider lane opened things up. I like the three point line being backed up as well.

I really liked the 4 quarters.

I didn't notice the 20 second reset on the shot clock, but I like the concept behind it.

Overall, I'm good with all of them going forward, even though I know they all probably won't.

But they still need to trim the shot clock a bit more.

I agree, but I'd be perfectly fine with the 20 second reset as a compromise.

I like the 3 point line being moved. The widening of the lane was probably immaterial. Who knows how much they were enforcing it. I don't recall any 3 seconds calls.

4 quarters was not bad, just awkward. However, if they do go to 4Q's, the MUST reduce the time outs. Some of the timeouts seemed inordinately long.

Also, the no one and one was strange. I like it in the college game because it brings drama (we saw it yesterday when Miami missed the front end and Loyola came down and hit the game winner)

The widened lane is huge. College basketball is ugly af most of the time and this could help in a big way.

Didn't realize they were doing this. Was so confused by the 4 quarters.

Of them all the 4 quarters is a game changer. I love the strategic aspect of having a “foul to give”

Quarters should be the easiest change IMO, why college basketball still does halves is just crazy to me. The one and one rule with 7 fouls in 20 minutes is just awful.

Also think the extended 3 point line should hold. Indifferent on the shot clock going to 20 for offensive board and widened lane. Dont like or dislike it.

Like all of them, but the lane and 4 quarters need to be implemented full time for next season

Only thing I am unsure on is the foul/bonus setup.. eliminating 1 and 1 shots just does not seem right to me

This is a great point. Not sure why they couldn't keep the same bonus rules with quarters. Still reset after each half, not each quarter.

It's really a pace if play thing... If you have a physical game and lots of early fouling there are going to be lots of FTs which is boring and slows the game down, I like the 5 foul reset each quarter rules

The 1 and 1 rule is one of the worst in sports, i hope they do away with that forever

Nothing worse than watching a team get to 7 fouls with like 12 minutes left in a half. Nothing worse than watching free throw shooting contests

I liked how it takes five fouls per quarter to shoot free throws rather than 7 fouls in a half. I hate when a team gets in the bonus midway through a half
