I think the quarters and fouls really changed the pace for the better.

More defined periods, lets both teams set up to do different things based on the score.

Not sure why they couldn't keep the same bonus rules with quarters. Still reset after each half, not each quarter.

No one wants to watch a team shoot foul shots for the remaining 12 minutes of a half.

Agreed, it was an adjustment being there in person, but I want them to stay, it was overall positive for the game

If anyone watched Bama/VT game last night, VT got in the bonus with OVER 15 minutes left on the clock in 2nd half, it turned into a free throw shooting contest most of the way and didnt ruin but dampered what was a good tight game.

34 free throws got shot after that point, THIRTY FOUR free throws in the last 15 minutes of the game

Liked the quarters and foul stuff for the most part. Agree with liking 1and 1’s as unique to college. Maybe 1 and 1’s on the fifth and then full bonus on the 7th. But I agree that overall limiting free throws for non shooting fouls is good.

Loved the increased three point line and widened lane. It allowed for much more diverse play styles with the added room to operate. Way more driving space with the defense having to extend further to guard the three, way more room for skilled post players.

I like the quarters. Every other level of basketball plays quarters, both men and women.

Oh.... and next year, if a coach calls a timeout to rub a win in someone's face.... he should get an extra bonus 30 second timeout to do it again.

Yes. Yes he should. Enjoy yet another upvote.

So much better having is played by quarters; new three point line was a nice edition too.

Hell, yeah! I love it when they are constantly changing the rules. pfffft! Who wants to play the same game all year every year with nothing to confuse the fans.

The NIT is literally the perfect place to experiment, they are competitive games that don't really mean much in the grand scheme of things.

It's like the SEC experimenting with rule changes in conference games in baseball, except the games mean less...

The rules are great, it opens up the floor and gives the game a much better flow. I wish the NCAA would adopt these rules.

I was digging the 3 pt line and widened lanes... I’m not against the 4 quarters, it was just different for me but I could get used to it...I like the 20 second reset on the offensive rebound... all in all.... A+...

The 1 and 1 rule is one of the worst in sports, i hope they do away with that forever

Nothing worse than watching a team get to 7 fouls with like 12 minutes left in a half. Nothing worse than watching free throw shooting contests
correct. The last 3 minutes too often turns into a foul-fest and free throw shooting contest. That, combined with constant timeouts and substitutions, turns the last 3 minutes into a 30 minute snoozer.

They really need to deal with all of that.

I liked all of them. opens the floor, gets rid of some of the incentive for intentional fouls, makes the game more "standard". Everyone but the NCAA plays quarters.

be lots of FTs which is boring and slows the game down, I like the 5 foul reset each quarter rules

I like that too.

The 4 quarters also is so much better. Gives more focus for players and spectators. I think the crowd starts to lose attention for 20 straight minutes, as do players. Listening to players’ interviews, they like the 4 qtrs too. What they like, I like!
