I figured football 35%, baseball 20% - the % of kids that the school meant absolutely 0 to their decision to attend there.

But man, BBall. Wow. No wonder I inherently dislike the sport and generally only love watching LSU play.

*maybe*, since 100 is so strong, I'll drop that to like 97.38635%.

Looking at it from their point of view, I don’t really blame them. Not bashing the new coach, just looking at it from a players POV

Does this surprise you?

None of these kids give a shite about anything except gold chains, tattoos, and stacks of cash.

I mean...

- good fanbase*
- SEC
- regular in tournament
- starting role pretty easy

There's alot to get here even with a coach you're not smitten with.

"Hey, I can get paid again on a whole new deal!"
Can't blame them.

Basketball recruiting is probably the dirtiest of the major college sports so yeah the biggest recruits tend to go to schools for the money and not their love for the school.

The antidote to that is getting 3/4 star players that can be good college players but not necessarily NBA talent. Takes a while to develop those players but with sanctions coming we have that time.

3/5 guys in the portal transferred into LSU from other schools. The other 2 were only here for 1 year. Colton was probably told to start looking elsewhere by Wade before he got fired.

Not next year. But I have confidence that McMahon will lure several solid midmajors on the added exposure playing in the SEC, tourney or not. Nearly every game will be played against NBA potentials and watched by scouts. At a midmajor you may only get a handful of those opportunities.

And an athletic department that just bent you over and ruined your season and backstabbed your allegiance to a University?

Love the McMahon hire under unfortunate circumstances and will continue to support LSU basketball, but it’s a stretch for LSU AD to go full Benedict Arnold on the basketball program and pretend like the players will look past that because they love LSU???

You’re nuts.

Disgusts me hearing LSU fans gush over blueblood final 4.

Always amusing and a little sad to see grown men come to this obvious realization. Players in the big 3 sports, way more times than not, don’t have any kind of deep undying love of the school where they play.

I have season tickets to 4 LSU sports and attend regularly. LSU MBB is my favorite. I really liked Will Wade as our HC and I am not "over it" just yet. But, my wife and I will be in our seats come November and support whatever team McMahon can put together. The bottom line is that I am an LSU fan.

This past season's team gave it all for the team during 21-22. Saying they do not GAF now is not what I observed all season. Indeed, they DID GAF. But college players follow their head coach. And, regardless of the circumstances, LSUAD fired these guys' coach.

and most of them delusions that they will play in the NBA when 99% will never step even see a game in person.

Basketball has always been more about individuals than the team or school. Much more so than football or baseball. Really not surprising at all everyone bailed they don’t have any loyalty to LSU and can’t really blame them for it
