They are tired because we have no depth...not because they are not trying.....we used to rotate guys in and out...we no longer have that luxury
Yes and no. Depth or no depth, there is no excuse for the defense to have their hands on their hips after the first play from scrimmage in the second half. That shows mental exhaustion. I saw that same look from the first play on 1/9. Depth is NOT the only issue on this team. Execution and motor is bigly lacking.

Gotcha
It's not just about how. One is telling the truth in generalities, the other is blaming someone else, and not taking any responsibility.
It IS O's fault that the kicking game stinks, not JUST the players. If you want to champion the blunt truth from O, it should be this:
"We just don't have a field goal kicker. That's my fault. Just don't have one on our roster. I also fired the ST coordinator and have not taught the fundamentals to the Kicking Team. That's on me as well Going to recruit some kickers, and I'll make sure we train them up. It's my responsibility to fix it."
He basically admitted that he can have no effect on the kicking game this year, and that recruiting is the only option. Great!

Steve Spurrior for one. He always told it like it was. No sugar coating with Steve.

Context and word choice matter in everything you ever have, and ever will say. Is this somehow news to you?

he won't. he is trying to buy more time by throwing players under the bus. he is feeling the heat.

Well he isn't lying about that is he? Lol, our kickers have sucked for sure, there's no denying that.
I don't care if our kickers are 0/100, as a HC you never say this kinda shite about your players. Especially when they don't even have a special teams coach.

Hey just saying an actual special teams coach might go a long ways helping out our kickers.
Posted on 10/4/17 at 9:13 pm to GuiceTheGreat
This is not constructive criticism man. You never, NEVER say that your players suck and you need to go get better ones publicly

His new narrative seems to be nothing is fixable through coaching this year. "Nothing is my fault", in other words.

I've always said LSU needs to hire a PR firm yesterday. You can't continue to allow this kind of nonsense in official interaction with the press and the public. A good PR firm could help get this under control.
Moscona made a good point the other day. O wants to be more transparent than Miles, but there's a time when too much transparency is a bad thing. On top of that, I think O's apparent thin skin and emotions get the best of him too many times.

You are 100% right about that. O needs to look in the mirror next time he says he has a lack of anything on the team.
Posted on 10/4/17 at 9:18 pm to Fus0623
Well...he's not totally wrong.

Are you FACKING KIDDING ME??
2017 LSU Football Roster
There are three players on that roster designed as "PK". There's a fricking super vote of confidence towards another of your position groups. First wideouts (no personnel to run spread sets). Next, both sides of the line (need to pick us up sum juco players this cycle). Now three PK's on the roster but we don't have a kicker? Sandwiched in the midst of player blame, there was also allusion to lack of coaching from his subordinates and position coaches.
I'm getting more pissed every time this guy says something, anything. You are in FACKING CHARGE OF LSU FOOTBALL, so stop pointing fingers.
I am often in charge of equipment designing and fabrication at my job. I get to pull one or two guys from the production side of the facility to help me as needed. But the job is mine to do. When something goes wrong, I hold my guys accountable in private while solely shouldering the blame to my superiors. And when something goes right, I redirect all praise to my guys. That's how the real world works. I'm no fantastic leader but I understand leadership. Our current head coach seems to have no clue.

I mean we do pay him not to coach, so I guess it makes some sense that coaching and gameplanning can't fix things and recruiting is the answer to every question.
