I just don't see how its not MJ. Younger, more athletic, more upside.

I love how people just assume that Brennan is the defacto starter next season. No if ands or buts about it....just bam, no true sophs starting, no opportunity for them to even bother trying to be the starter. It's just Brennan, and deal with it.

I expect a competition assuming Myles is healthy. I am not sure why people are tossing him aside. He looked pretty great before his injury.

It will likely come down to who picks up the new OC's offense quicker. Myles certainly has the edge in experience learning new offenses.

Quite a few have said this in every thread on the qb subject here.

Even though none of know shite.

We just have to wait and see what the new OC decides.

It would suck for Brennan if he waited and stayed loyal but got passed up but thats big boy football.

I agree it should be MJ but I’m not sure why this matters. It’s not like Myles is 30. Burrow was the oldest QB we had last year.

Myles would be the better qb just on arm strength alone. But Johnson's pocket awareness is off the charts like Burrow's was. A spring practice and fall for Johnson just might make him hard to beat. His pocket awareness and ability to move just enough is incredible. You can tell he was coached by a qb his dad. We will have 3 qb's on the roster whose dad was qb's. Johnson, Nuss and Howard. This is going to be awesome if we can protect them.

No. Next year a QB battle with the starter being the guy who does best.

How about whoever the best qb is through the Spring and Summer, that will be the #1 qb for LSU. Wow, what a concept!

The problem is this does nothing for those who need a hero.

Well it will be interesting to see the new OC choose from the guys here.
The brain trust from 2020 got number one correct but whiffed on number two in my opinion. You can't start a non mobile guy with a sketchy O line if the two are close.
Seems obvious but that's hind sight on my part but they had live practice as well as film so no reason to get that wrong when you are paid millions.
O is hiring for his longevity here so I hope he gets it right, all out of coaching uh ohs.

The thing is ,the only time max drives the ball downfield is that dig route to boutte . Brennan was hitting plays over the top. Max has very little e arm strength at this point and his deep ball isnt great. Meanwhile myles can and has attacked every area of the field. If you just base it off who is a better passer to all portions of the field ,its not even close.

Brennan has rare arm talent. He only started 3 games. By the end of the year he would have been extremely good and aside from the 1st half against state ,he was making quick decisions and had better awareness then max.

Max is a bit quicker on his feet, besides that ,he offers you nothing that Myles doesnt and does nothing better then Myles.

The team came together at the end of the year, not just max.

Go back and watch the whole games when max played. It was ugly at times

I am sure you feel the same way, but I only want the best on the field. This ain't high school where seniors get the nods over better players just because they are seniors. If that is Brennan fine. If that is someone else fine.

Personally I prefer they just stick with Max Johnson. He will be here the longest, and longevity matters at that position. But if Brennan is better, then play him.

But the spot should not and I assume will not be given to Brennan simply because he is loyal, been here the longest and "deserves" to be simply based on that and a couple games from this year.

To me Max did more to win the job than Myles did to keep it. Open competition starting now.

Not impressed with Myles. Expected better performance when starting first game this year. Had plenty of time to learn behind Big Jeaux. Didn't see a composed and confident leader. Waiting to play while behind better players does not equal automatically starting jobs.

Brennan has the most career passing yards (682), completions (50), and touchdown passes (7) by a Tigers quarterback in their first two starts.

Averaging 341 yds and 3.5 TDs a game in your first two starts are bad numbers?

Why not just have them compete and have the player that gives you the best chance to win start? It has to be noted that max won the 2 games he started in where as miles lost against worse teams. That holds some weight to me personally.

Are we calling him "Maximum" or "Maximus?"

"Maximus" is an actual name, so go with that.....(Also a part of the infamous Augustus Caesar Roman Empire clique)

Has Myles been declared healthy?
Any speculation on QB is pointless at this time. Myles has not been cleared for practice and Spring Practice is almost upon us.
Any speculation about 1 and 2 or transfers makes no sense until we know if Myles is ok to practice.
