So is this just the SEC is laying the framework to kick us out if we roster the players?

I'm confused for the purpose of this for any other reason. I get Sankey hates Lane and what not, but is this about having an extra layer of attack if we try anything else with Harris or Wright? They'd be in contempt of court, but I don't think Sankey cares and the rest of the conference is on a power trip after we didn't add them to the roster.

Basically, but I don't think they're really serious about kicking us out. This is them setting up the framework to punish us if we roster the players. I doubt it would extend all the way to expulsion

We’ve been saying that for 2 weeks…. It won’t get much further than this… then there’s something else legal filed. The SEC isn’t stopping they will continue throwing the temper tantrums.

I thought the claim in the lawsuit was about damages from conspiring with the TRO players to file suit.

Didn't we (LSU/LK) say MULTIPLE times we aren't rostering the "pro" players? What more does the SEC want? No snarky remarks duing a 10 second interview at halftime? Is the SEC a 12 year old girl? THis is so dumb

This. LSU takes a huge hit if it is expelled. But so does the SEC. Not as big of a hit as LSU, but a hit and the media firestorm and controversy would be a nightmare scenario for everyone involved.

No, it's not damages. The state court rulings effectively enjoying the conference from certain actions. The federal case with theoretically established that they can still punish schools to engage in the behavior.

I think the main plan is to rule us ineligible for the championship game which would likely remove us from playoff contention entirely and give the cfp the plausible deniability to leave us out of the playoffs. So we would have no conference or national championship chances this year.

Then I'm not sure what the further consequences would be next year, but I think that's the plan for this year

We haven't even rostered the players yet

They are setting up the FO to our chance at an FA. It's our decision to choose the FA route

Yes.

And they scheduled the vote.

Texas rostered a player.

Where’s their vote?

We declined to roster them.

They still pushed the issue.

how would there be any consequences when coach was in contact with SEC daily to ensure we were complying according to them. The players were the ones filing for injuction etc and we did not put them on the roster even though they are legally eligible.

I feel this is the NCAA trying to establish some type of way to take control of these eligibility lawsuits without legal ramifications of State restraining orders.

It’s a move for power and leverage by Sankey.

He lost control last week and this is his ultimate move to regain that control.

It’s a threat. I don’t think anything happens so long as LSU doesn’t add the players in question.

An LSU is taking steps to basically endow those funds permanently for years to come with that major brand equity thing.

And you find this all rational?

Curious, what has your position on Kiffin been since the hiring? Were you a fan of the hire?
