As long as PM is head coach, the answer is yes!! He horrible and has been for years! Past time to get rid of him.

Name a coach with more success than CPM during his tenure at lsu.

McNeese can hit the ball and score runs

LSU left men on base a few innings

LSU left Hess in too long and got behind, Hess is young but does not have composure yet, he has all the tools and will lose games like this until he calms down.

Hate to say this but McNeese out coached LSU, this LSU team was not prepared to play a very fired up McNeese team.

LSU has young talent on the team and will learn from this loss

How will he learn to compose himself in adverse situations if he gets pulled at the first sign of trouble?

It's baseball. I would wait until you see them dropping SEC games before you begin to panic.

With loses already to New Orleans and McNeese I will say this team is overrated right now. They deserve to be ranked in the 20-25 range. They need to improve in many areas.

Yea because I'm sure you've watched a bunch of other college baseball teams to compare. I guess Florida should drop that far too since they just lost 2 nights in a row to a mid-major.
To all who say Maneri didn't deserve a raise. Name current coaches who have a better resume than him.

There are reasons for concern, but it's not time to panic yet.

They lost to Lamar and had a great year last year.

No SEC title, no trip to Omaha. That is never considered a great year at LSU. The expectations of this program are to make runs to Omaha, if Paul Mainieri can't handle the heat then he should have tucked his tail and ran to Texas last year. Two trips and one win in Omaha in the last 7 years is not good enough.

Not in serious trouble. Baseball team is just not as good as advertised. Maineiri not as good a coach as advertised. Pretty simple.

Close loss to UNO, near loss to Nicholls and now a loss to McNeese as well as lose 2 of 3 last weekend...we are definitely competitive

Winning the game may not have been goal #1.
