There use to be a very small store on the east side of TS in the 80's. I remember it being in TS, but a guy here at work says it was the building just east of TS.

Anyone remember where it was located?

East side in the stadium next to the laundry room. I lived in Hatcher and East Stadium from 1977 - 1981. The store used to sell pickled pig's feet.

I remember a store in the late 80's that used to sell burgers and fries. It was on the east side of Tiger stadium. Used to go there for lunch sometimes.

There used to be a pub in the basement of Johnston. Beer in a freshmen dorm was not a good idea.

Awww, the good ole days. Keg parties at the various dorms and of course all the Friday keg parties at all the frat houses as well as the beer trucks parked behind the band hall for parties following football games.
BTW - I do remember that store. There were other stores like that on campus and many of them were managed by people that had a disability of some kind. A friend of mine ran one - she was legally blind caused by a car accident when she was in high school.

You don't remember the store because you drank all their beer.

Yeah it was definitely located inside the stadium. Remember the Tiger Gift center in the stadium too? And when I say inside I mean part of the structure not beyond the gates. The gift center was on the West side.

Was the store demo'd for the new upper section or is the room still there?

It was called "East Stadium Snack Bar".

Underneath the name on the store's sign was "check it out". So, we called it the "Check It Out Snack Bar". The guy who ran it had those eyes that look way off to the side when he's actually looking right at you. He was a grumpy old rude ba$tard. He would literally growl at you if you tried to buy something.

The room of washers and dryers was in the back. As a resident of North Stadium in the fall/spring of 80-81, it's where I did my laundry and bought cigarettes.

ETA... It was definitely IN the stadium, not in an unattached building. It was on the 1st floor, underneath the dorm rooms.

thing about the stadium dorms that stood out most to me was the bathrroms consisted of a row of toliets..maybe 8 or 10..without stall walls

you would walk in on 2 or 3 people doing their business yes it was scary.

I remember the guy that ran it. There was some kind of program where blind people could get a franchise to run these little stores in state buildings. You have to be legally blind.

This guy, because he was blind, obviously couldn't get a driver's license, but he didn't let that stop him. He bought a scooter that he'd ride on the sidewalks around campus. One day the inevitable happened, and he crashed and got all messed up.

Genius.

My dad told me back in the early 80's when he was there, there was a hamburger place in tiger stadium. He said he thinks it was only in the student section, and they would grill the burgers right in front of you during the game. Anybody know anything about this?

Yep. There was another one in the Dorm across from U-High's field in the back of the school. We called it the Blind Lady Shop. They sold those Hubig's pies. We would go there and stock up on U-High football away game road trips. Sometimes the Blind Lady and the Blind man at LSU stadium would switch jobs for a week...

I remember in the fall of '80 living in Hodges on the bottom floor all the way in the back - sneaking girls in was easy...
Yes that store was on the east side, almost directly in the middle I believe.
They also had the "Hungry Tiger" open on game days across from the old LSU Police Station.

I also remember the Launderette on Chimes near the Plasma Donation office and across from Mr. Gatti's, and a one-eyed old black guy was always there.
