re: I know it's been stated many times, but intentionally walking Crews to load the bases...

Intentionally walking Crews would have made sense if the runners were already at 2nd and 3rd. They weren't.
It was a move that was made out of FEAR... not respect, and not strategy.
Kentucky's coach and players are afraid to compete head to head. That's why they are constantly trying to play...

re: Top 5 LSU Women's Basketball Players

I used to play pick-up games with Joyce Walker in the old Gym Armory back in 1980. She made a fool out of me on a regular basis. She was so quick, and her midrange jumpers never missed. Most of us guys had played high school basketball, but she was always the best player on the court. She was very c...

Billy Kilmer left the Saints and had some success with the Redskins.
Does that count?...
re: For the Old Timers. What was it like living in Tiger Stadium?
Posted by LSU Weirdo on 11/14/22 at 9:46 pm
In 1980, my room in North Stadium was directly across from Mike's cage, and I had one of those long plastic horns that you bought at Mardi Gras. The horn was pretty loud. When I came wobbling into my room at 2:30 AM after a full night at the Bayou, I would blast the horn out of my window, and Mike w...

I lived on the 4th floor in North Stadium during the 1980 season, directly beneath the scoreboard and directly above the players' entrance to the locker room.
Game days were wild. Watching the build-up of the crowd outside the stadium all day from the dorm room windows was fun. During halftime, ...
re: Is Will Campbell the next Andrew Whitworth?
Posted by LSU Weirdo on 7/14/22 at 8:29 pm
If Will Campbell is an amazing enough athlete to start at LT as a true freshman, it might be interesting to see what he could do as a KO and punt returner... the same way that Trindon Holliday was sometimes used as a defensive end edge rusher.
Maybe some tackle-eligible wheel route catches.

The guy looks like his bat is juiced. How does he routinely get 400+ feet off the end of the bat? Insane power. ...
re: Could the fake punt be used as a primary formation for an offense?
Posted by LSU Weirdo on 5/11/22 at 1:16 am
When I was 7 or 8 years old, I would sit in class and dream up offensive formations in my notebook. I came up with a scheme where 10 offensive linemen would line up in a double-thick V formation, with the QB tucked into the protective safety of the V.
When the ball was snapped, all 11 players wo...

re: Where to watch the game in Memphis?
Posted by LSU Weirdo on 6/25/17 at 8:05 pm
Central BBQ on Summer Ave. will almost definitely have the game on at least one of their TVs... probably the big TV in the bar. If they don't, you can ask them to switch to it, and they will do it... unless there are Ole Miss people in there who protest just to be spitefull....

re: Although Ump was terrible...it was smart baseball by tigers.
Posted by LSU Weirdo on 6/24/17 at 7:18 pm
When a team's strategy is to keep the bats on their shoulders and win via walks, we call that "female genitalia ball".
I think Gilbert's first 5 strikeouts were called 3rd strikes. There is no excuse for that.
If the ump is wild, swing the damn bat.
No crying allowed. ...
